I see "Trending MMORPGs | The Secret World | Diablo 3 | SMITE | Rift" at the upper left corner of my screen. Good, you've found some more space for ads. That's fine, I understand the reasons. But why do all links point to a game called Elsword?
And I hope someone at MMORPG.com stills knows the difference between an MMORPG and a game that is not? Otherwise a visitor might get the impression that the stuff here really thinks that Diablo 3 is an MMORPG.
But then, I have no idea what SMITE is too.

I chuckled at the bar.
I'd change MMORPGS to GAMES, and make the links actually point to the right pages :P.
I'd suggest the name MOEverything.com.

It must be payed advertizing! They are trying to take our gold! ... or not.
Dear staff, plese create an option for us to turn off trending mmorpgs at the top. If you can't do that, how about giving an optioin to position to the bottom of the screen.

Kyleran: "Now there's the real trick, learning to accept and enjoy a game for what it offers rather than pass on what might be a great playing experience because it lacks a few features you prefer."
John Henry Newman: "A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault."
FreddyNoNose: "A good game needs no defense; a bad game has no defense." "Easily digested content is just as easily forgotten."
LacedOpium: "So the question that begs to be asked is, if you are not interested in the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you playing an MMORPG?"
I don't get how this 'Smite' can be 'trending'... what is this based on?
Certainly not mass interest or forum traffic, going by Smite...
I consider it advertising.

Our trending algorithm measures traffic volume over the past X number of hours (currently 24) for site content such as news, features, reviews, videos etc to rank games and content for that matter. It's a work in progress so there will be tweaks here and there but the lists generated are entirely organic based upon fluctuations of traffic across the site.
That said it is in no way advertising and was created as a way to point people towards the games that are currently most popular traffic wise across our site. The list will change frequently and since it has not changed the positionting of existing content it should be pretty easy for our existing users to ignore if they choose.
I do like the suggestion for changing 'MMORPGs' to 'Games' and will consider it. Thank you.

Well, since this isn't advertising, it shouldn't be a problem to allow a feature to disable seeing this or relocating it to the bottom of the screen. That's if it isn't advertising.

I'm sorry, but I have to ask you why? Seriously, what's the big deal?
I'll probably never click those links, but they certainly don't cause me enough frustration to request the option to have them removed.
