I just checked three different developers' postcount; 398, 300 and 411.

They're VERY active - I haven't been in many betas, but from reading other people's reactions, it seems like people are very impressed by the amount of engangement from the devs. Also several experienced betatesters mention that they're some of the most active devs they've ever seen, and praise them a lot. I've even seen them join the off-topic chat a few times.

Anyway, my point being is, that with a total of more than 1000s post from only these three developers, of course not all of the posts will be equil positive. I've even got a semi-negative response myself - though thinking about it, I deserved it. But ya, I have as well noticed a few negative posts. But they're very rare, and honestly, not even that negative, more just honest. Which I actually appreciate. Furthermore, when they're being a little sharp, they usually even add a; 'sorry if it comes out wrong, just starting to fell the 20th hour', or something like that.

Also, the examples you come with completely twisted - read the threads myself.

The problems reported in the CB-forums are allmost instantly responded to by the devs and fixes are thought of and implemented constantly at a good pace.

Most of the problems reported tho are due to old hardware, old drivers and old OS' and that's something the devs don't coment on too much as they're not looking backward. They try to make a modern game that simply presumes that people are using up-to-date hard and software. People still using 32bit-systems and five year old hardware sure get the shaft and rightfully so.

Dark is spilling out total bollocks and has actually no clue about CB as it seems.

When you allways try to keep those old systems alive there'll never be any progress.

32-bit systems have problems with TSW as the 32-bit systems have a too low amount of memory accessable, that was the case with AoC allready. It's a long known issue and Funcom don't care for a few years now. Win7 64-bit is supposed to be standard by now.

The other real problem is old GPUs that simply can't handle TSW, and this was an issue with AoC also. A GTX460 or something like it is supposed to be the minimum in somewhat capable gaming-rigs these days.

Last but nit least... AMD. AMD allways had issues with the Dreamworld-engine they're using since AoC. And this is something that needs to be fixed with better drivers from AMD.

The devs know about these issues as they pop up on a daily basis in the forums... but why should they invest lot's of time to solve problems that are 100% fixable by the usres themselves.

EDIT: Look at the minimum requirements for TSW... these are the minimum requirements to launch the game basically, but not to play the game at anything higher then 1024x768 with minimum settings.
They should've written the real requirements to run the game in a reasonable manner, to clarify what kind of rig you need. That would've stopped 75% of threads about the unplayability of the game allready.

nVidia themselve for example recommends a GTX560ti as minimum for TSW in their forums... just sayin'

Calling bullshit. Screenshots or it didn't happen. And there is a difference between players reporting bugs and asking for core design changes because they don't like the way certain features work. Devs have the right to respond to the latter, with 'Sorry, that goes against our design philosophy, it's staying the way it is'. Even Guild Wars 2 devs have began doing that...
Asking them to fix the dxllwin32 error that crashes everyone is a core game change? Wow just wow
Please tell me where I said that? I have no idea what they are asking to be fixed or what bugs you are talking about. I'm not in closed beta. I'm simply stating that sometimes testers think that they can tell developers how to design a game when the developers have spent years hammering down the design they are playing. It's not that simple.
Well they can fix it by launch or suffer the consequences
Ultimatums are for the weak and immature. I personally hope they don't so I never have to chance to run into you in game...

Sorry, funcom dont fix the gamebreaking bugs and launch as is, people will love it!

I AM in CB, and without a shadow of a doubt they DO fix issues, ~2ish days ago they introduced a bug that caused the game to crash, that bug was fixed with todays patch. Every single patch they have released so far fixed somethings, not everything ofcourse and just like in every single game in history they do break something new on occasion.

Ive been running the game for weeks and weeks, Im having a blast there and the vast majority of bugs out there right now arent even worth mentioning and/or easy to work around. And yes there still are some, some can be anoying but hey they'll get to it eventually.

Are you new to mmos period? There isnt any game out there without bugs especially at release. Some even after 6-7 years STILL didnt break game breaking glitches bugs and exploits. That and i do not believe you a dev said they will not fix (any) bugs.

In a fantasy world we would all have the latest of everyting and an 128 bit OS! In the real world many dont have a great vid card or a 32 bit system or an Nvidia card. Ignoring these problems is making your own deathbed. Telling people to pay more money to change their OS to 64 bit because they cant make a game that would run under 4gb of mem is ridiculous at best.

Nvidia reqs are obvious attempts at getting more people to buy newer cards. The burden falls on the devs to get the game to work on requirements that are to these day common.

It has been running on my old vista (yes I said vista)32 using a simple 2.8ghz duo core and a ancient ati X800, it works fine, not ideal, not on the res I want to but more then playeble.

It runs like a dream on my 3.6 octo core using win7 68b and a asus radion hd7970.

The majority of computers "should" be running the game but trying to run it on a vic20 is a bad idea.

Not even close.  I would not trust anything this guy is saying.  There have been major improvements and more happen daily.

    560ti is not minimum spec

it is recommended spec, but recomended spec is a bit strict, imo.  I can play all high, with hardware AA in 1080p with nice 50+fps on a 6870, which in nvidia terms is what a 560gtx.  which to me is what most games say for reccomended spec.  CPU wise they recommend i5 2400, but again you need nothing like im using FX4 and im not cpu bound, i monitor never go above 50%.  another factor is large crowds, compared to swtor i get slighlty higher frame rate in swtor on my own, but with lots of players on screen, tsw dips to say 40fps where as swtor im chugging along at 20.

I hear you can play it well on the likes of a 6850 / 7770  - like 40-50fps with mix of high and medium settings but no AA. even a 550ti will give you 40+ at such settings.

nVidia is a GFX-specialist and according to their forums they see 1080p with enabled AA as standard for games released today. That's why they list the 560ti as minimum requirement.

And as I said. Sure you can run the game with the min reqs listed on the TSW-site, but don't expect to play at 1080p with AA enabled. I'm running the game myself with a GTX460 at 1080p but with minimum settings to get the game running at 50-60FPS.

To get the game running at 1080p with all settings at max in the DX11-client you'll need a really beefy card like the GTX580, but then the game looks really beautiful ;)

Are they actual bugs they wont listen to the CB testers on, or is it crap the testers FEEL the game SHOULD be like and demanding FUNCOM change it to please them? I only ask because I have been in over 10 closed Beta and Alpha testings over the past 3-4 years, and the forums are usually trashed by people who think thier vision is more important than the vision of the game writers themselves. And then they get all kinds of mad if the devs dont do what they want, which of course they refer to as bugs, just to try and get support to go against the game later.

This is flat out lie.  Might be the worst lie I've seen on mmorpg. The lead developer will answer you questions in your post. They do that ALL the time. Hell I feel like I know them.

Few things. I"m in closed beta and can rightfully say (without breaking any NDA).. things have improved on a very very noticeable scale.  Secondly, here is an idea, now bare with me cause its pretty new and novel... get a key for the weekend and try the beta?  I know, odd to just flat out say such a thing but ya know, I heard it works to help with questions that some feel can't be answered or are being answered in a untrue manner. :) ..

On a side note, if you for some reason can not take into account that this is to help fix things and not let you play the game free for a weekend then let someone else have the beta key that will take the time to be constructive and help with bug fixes rather than someone who will just simply flame about it on the forums.

It is a very nice overview, cheers for posting it mate. Just a small detail though,

"One of the first things you should do is create an account at the official forum. Introduce yourself!"

Just creating an account doesn't grant you the official forum access. You will need to pre-order the game to do so. Just a heads up there. Again though, nicely written!

I was in both open betas using free keys given by websites (no pre-order) and I was able to create an account and even post and create new threads (on the open beta sub-forum, though, didn't try in other areas).

What can men do against such reckless hate?

It is indeed amusing the effort some players make to stop others from trying a free test of a game. It's like they are trying to provide a service by stopping others from formulating their own opinions.

I don't like the colour yellow but I don't force others to stop buying things that are yellow.

    You stay sassy!

What a load of crap! Troll alittle harder next time.

for the people that left CB because of bugs, LOL to them and fail on them as well,  a beta test is to TEST out the product and help the devs find these issues , it is not a god damn trial, kids these days.
