Had this issue twice myself. I ran my fiances updated and it ran fine she is running same set up as myself. So Im guessing it's on there end.

I just kept running the updated and sent in a bug report when requested only thing I would suggest that work is to just reload the updated a few times and give it a go.

I had the same problem but i have found a solution to this working for me and i have decided to make a account on this site and share with you guys

    1. Locate your GW2.exe file.
    2. Right-click the file and select Create shortcut.
    3. Rename this new shortcut to Guild Wars 2 Repair.
    4. Right-click on Guild Wars 2 Repair and select Properties.
    5. Locate the Target line and add –image to the end.

    Example: C:GamesGuild Wars 2 Betagw2.exe –image

    6. Click Ok.

Remember to put the shortcut in the desktop

Thank you.  This worked for me.  What exactly does it do?

Worked also for me. Its important to note that it will only repair the client , it wont start it for me. i have to start it with the normal gw2 exe (i dont know if that makes any sense)

Still not working.  have tried every solution posted here, on redditt and other sites and still crashes.  I'm also not getting the same error as everyone else, nor have I seen anyone else complain about the same error as I, so I dunno what to try anymore.

I did get a response from ANet tech support and sent in all my info w/ screenshots and whatnot they asked for so we'll see if they find a solution for my particular error...

Looks like they patched a hot fix, it works for me now.

Everything is fine again. Just try to update from time to time. It will fix itself.

Still crashing even after the lastest fix...and with the same error message as before!

I'm starting to get concerned for you guys who are still having problems.

I've been patching every day for the past week on a Windows 7 64bit and a Vista 64 bit PC and haven't had any problems.

If you're still having problems then contact ANet and get something started. Don't put this off 'til Friday.

My client is crashing every time I try to update it.

It's rather irritating that they don't have even have GW2 support forums up.

Can you post more about the error you're getting and what you've tried?

Tomorrow is Thursday and then 24 hours from 2:00PM PST will be GO TIME. There's precious little time to get things grooving.

Exactly the same issue that I am running into. I submitted a support ticket, but I'm not confident it will do any good.

Yep. I'm getting this now, too. Makes me think they've updated something on the patch server that isn't there, yet. Try again later. image

yeah i just patched the small patch today and crashed before it could finish patching and now it will not  patch , just crashes. I wouldnt even worry about it though they probably will have another patch to fix it tomorrow. Just send in the built in error report and I bet it works tomorrow

I patched up a large patch on monday but after seeing this thread, thought what the hell I'll give it a try and sure enough, same error everyone else is getting and the little -image thing in properties is doing the same thing.

Thanks both for trying and posting.

It's clearly an issue on ANet's end.

Nobody freak out, yet. We'll try again tomorrow.  image

I also tried that DNS reset video that was posted and I get the same thing, no fix. I think the poster above is right, Anet needs to sort this out as it worked for me Monday.

I was all good until I downloaded todays patches. I get the same error as the above users. I decided to attempt to clean up everything to start fresh while cleaning out anything else that might be left in registry. Sadly no dice still, so has to be on their end like the other was saying.

I hope they fix this soon lol.
