    1. Locate your GW2.exe file.
    2. Right-click the file and select Create shortcut.
    3. Rename this new shortcut to Guild Wars 2 Repair.
    4. Right-click on Guild Wars 2 Repair and select Properties.
    5. Locate the Target line and add –image to the end.

    Example: C:GamesGuild Wars 2 Betagw2.exe –image

    6. Click Ok.

Remember to put the shortcut in the desktop

TY for taking your time to register & respond !!!

    I´ll try it :)

I get a pop-up windown in Italian (weird because i´m not from Italy,i´m from Spain) saying client crashed blah blah blah

    I get this crash report:

That problem is on their end. The client is expecting a different size file then what the server is sending.

    TY!

    Good to hear :D

I´ve noticed also a lot of ppl is getting same error (saw it in GW2´s facebook)

Hope they fix it soon :)

It's fixed for me now. I was getting the same http error as you.

This is the only problem that doesn't seem to have a solution yet. I just re-installed windows, got a new client, let it download everything again and the problem persists. Switching to my old GTX 280 card on the same computer fixes the problem.

I believe at this point the game just can't handle 4GB vram.

I opened the client last Sunday, new 4GB card already installed and the client didn't crash, this is happening after the last update. I agree it doesn't make any sense, but I believe I have nothing left to test.

Edit: This is from the error log, have a look, especially the last line.

I'm getting the same error now.

I was getting the same error earlier, downloaded GW2Setup, run as administrator and compatibility mode and the problem disappeared (for a while) then when it reached the final 3 files the error reappeared. Odd

    same problem here

This seems very strange to me. But it should certainly be reported and worked on. That's what betas are for, after all. It's better to see such a debilitating and irritating problem before release. I just hope something transpires that allows you to test the game next weekend.

"There are two great powers, and they've been fighting since time began. Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit."

    — John Parry, to his son Will; "The Subtle Knife," by Phillip Pullman

Well, I give up for now.  Recently finished DLing another copy of the client and the crashing still persists.

Surely though , I don't think its my GPU causing this cause I'm starting to see a lot more people not only here but many other forums complaining about the crashing, and my particular GPU is extremely rare to find right now.  Far worse than the reference 680 when they launched.

Hope they fix if before this weekend cause i'm having serious GW2 withdrawls.  There isn't a single MMO out or in production thats doing everything ANet are with GW2, and it really disappointing.  Although FFXIV is looking mighty awesome after seeing the new 2.0 client and UI...

  • QSatuQSatu Member UncommonPosts: 1,796

Now I get http error too. ANet fu**** up this update. They need to fix it soon.

  • ReaperUkReaperUk Member UncommonPosts: 758

I downloaded the 5GB patch yesterday and everything seemed to be working ok.

Then I saw this thread this morning and decided to see what it's like today. Well I'm getting this error too. It started a small download and then stopped but it also brought up an error reporting window that sends the log directly to Arenanet. Considering there's two days to go before we need the program, I don't see what the big fuss is about. They obviously know about it, will be implementing a fix and that means there's nothing to worry about............well unless the error is still there on Friday afternoon of course but I highly doubt that will happen.

  • VarthanderVarthander Member UncommonPosts: 466

Maybe they shut down the main server for a reason, the most disturbing thing its that the crash message its in Italian, i wonder why!

I got a small update today, might be a fix....

    This is not a game.

  • seridanseridan Member UncommonPosts: 1,202

I think they fixed it. No problems with updating anymore

I run my shortcut with the -image argument and also as administrator. Don't know if that helped or not but I managed to download the final 3 files I was missing (and was getting a crash while downloading)

    HAHAHAHAhhhh, a most excellent response!

  • ValkaernValkaern Member UncommonPosts: 497

I tested it after seeing this, it downloaded a new small patch (50mb or so) but didn't crash.

  • AdalwulffAdalwulff Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 1,152

I got hungup on the last 2 files as well, after 5 min I just closed it, restarted and it downloaded the rest.

    Client works fine.

Isnt there a "file check" option somewhere? That should fix it.
