Watch the video. If you, like me, were expecting an MMORPG, you are now disappoint. If you feared MH would be Superhero Squad for adults, your fears were justified.

But hey, if you love Diablo, you're in luck.

I am butthurt.

I am also in luck. Four player instanced missions (Diablo/MUA) and big giant MMO lobby where there's combat and trading. Not really much more you can ask for.

I can't tell if this is real or sarcasm.  It's a GAME BASED ON COMIC BOOKS.  I would think it would be made for all ages but mostly for kids.

Don't know either, the way the op makes it out to be is that it was supposed to be the mature crowd or something.

how it was announced 3 years ago

Super Hero Squad (in development at The Amazing Society) will tie-in with a Cartoon Network show and an action figure line, appealing to a young generation of budding MMO gamers. For the more traditional comic fan, development on Marvel Universe is being done at Gargantuan Studios in San Mateo, California, part of the Gazillion family of game studios. (Although it's unstated in the interview, the existence of both titles could very well create a situation where younger players who like Super Hero Squad 'grow into' Marvel Universe.)

    from an interview w Gazillion

Marvel Universe is an "adult game" of the "kids game?"

We'll say it's a "mass market" game, but you can probably call it the adult version. The kids' version, or our first product to market, is Marvel Super Hero Squad, which was a specific attempt by the folks at Marvel to reach all the young kids that love the Marvel characters.

    For the RECORD,

I play Super Hero Squad Online.  I'm well over that target group.  Actually, to be more specific, my daughter plays the day-to-day SHSO stuff and I play the card game they have on there because I think it's fun as hell.

    That being said,

The target audience of comic book readers are pretty much kids who can't afford an iPad/Job/Major Income source.  I'm not saying that comic readers AREN'T older but I am saying that the generic target demographic tends to steer for the 15-25 crowd and not the 25+ crowd.

All I can say is that they really messed up on Dr. Doom's voice. He doesn't even sound remotely intimidating, more like a teenager mucking about with a voice modulator trying to make himself sound villainous. Blech.

Why can't anyone ever get this character right?
