Tales of Tyria #32: Gaming Hardware

We have a special episode this week where we take a small break from direct GW2 discussion to work on a tangential topic: Hardware. How do you make the most of your GW2 gaming experience? We break down and discuss the various peripherals, as well as the internals of a good gaming PC. Before that though, we have some leaked possible patch notes to talk about!

Ah the great holy trinity debate.  Like many topics of gaming debate, so much time is wasted squabbling about the semantics of definitions rather than the key question at hand.  (You guys did a good job though of acknowledging and remedying this issue at the beginning of this episode.)  I feel like posters/bloggers need to start prefacing their arguments with qualifiers, such as, "If by 'the holy trinity is dead' we mean players will cease to self identify as tanks or healers, then..." or "If by 'the holy trinity is dead' we mean players will cease taking hits for each other or healing each other, then..."

The problem is a sweeping statement like "the holy trinity is dead" means different things to different players.  Such is the way of language and perception.  So instead of focusing on validating or invalidating that statement, we should use a catchy sweeping statement like that to talk about exactly what the state of GW2 combat will be like.  Will players continue to self identify as specific roles?  Will these roles remain singular or plural?  Will specific players continue to take a beating for other players?  Will one person do this, or two, three, or even more?  Will everybody do this at one time or another?  The same for healing and dealing damage, etc.

Oh, and your keyboard setup makes me weep :p
