Boy the hate in this subforum is getting crazy.  So crazy that I've started using the forum user "block" feature for the first time.

    I'll be playing D3 and can't wait.

  • wrightstufwrightstuf Member UncommonPosts: 659

that doesnt strike me as a very meaningful way to get your point across. Why dont you douse yourself with gasoline and light yourself on fire in front of their Irvine, Ca HQ? that prob would get more attention

So, what is a pissed off Diablo 2 fan to do?

#1 Do NOT buy Diablo 3 at launch.

    #2 Install Diablo 2.

#3 on 5/15/12, play massive amounts of online Diablo 2.

#4 When someone talks about Diablo 3, give them an unfiltered piece of your mind!

How odd, I mean, I am waiting anxiously for D3 and I STILL have D2 loaded on my PC... If you don't like it, stick with D2... How simple is that?

You do know that a piece of mind can go both ways, right?

That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!

I'm recommending the above strategy for D3 protest.  It works well for the monks out East, it should work just as well for the people living in the past.  Don't bother playing PoE or D2, Blizzard will be sure to get the message.

Let me know how it goes.

    I'm joking.

Watch it'll probably be this guy and like two other dudes playing diablo 2 on the 15th, lol. Actually, no, this guy will be playing d3 too.

I just finished D2 ,  I bought it again since my old copy got lost years ago.

The graphics were terrible resolution wise but the game play was pretty awesome . I dont remember it looking so blury but I guess we have been spoilt by HD resolution :)

Can't wait for D3 ,  why would you not play it lol ?

RMAH will make easy money for blizzard and all the other people making money with blizzard product just gonna do more money out of it and more spreading like a disease.

I like diablo in all but that buisness model is just making me cry, what an outrage (hey chill, anyway who gives a fuck?)

I like to play a game to escape a bit from the reality. Mixing it with money and drop rate is just not right.

How do they balance revenue this year? increase drop rate on some item, or make really difficult to find?

Just like a car accelarate or brake, how do they balance the game? with their account balance ?

It's just fucked up shit, and it's just a game.

I can't believe what gamers are willing to endure just to get that game.

Few people understand this, it's not about gaming anymore it's just about making money.

They destroyed diablo the game to make it diablo the product you need.

Even if the game is the best ever made it is still made to take your money , not made for you to play.

You'll be back for more soon just wait, no wait, don't wait just get it now.

dude, relax...no one is forcing you to use the AH or spend RL money ingame...you can play till your hearts content and never go near it...you can play it just like you played D1 or D2 except without all the cheaters and hackers. ok, so blizz makes some extra money...who the hell cares when you're playin a rockin good game?

I'd venture to guess that 98% of all the haters posting here will be playing it

I don't plan on buying diablo III, and would probably even consider myself a Blizzard hater, but even I think the OP is taking it too far.

Why would you say that the game won't have the cheaters and hackers? I don't see any reason why having an easier way of retrieving your profits would make the cheating less. I would think it would be just as prevalent, if not more.

Haha, good try OP. Now go play Diablo 2. No one here cares.

Actually I think everyone is being too dismissive here.

I think it is a decent idea IF you feel strongly about the trend to let RMT mix with gameplay. I feel strongly about it because I think what we will end up with is casinos not games, shopping instead of adventuring, gameplay designed to optimize profits. Which saddens the ageing geek inside me that experienced the relatively uncomplicated gaming world in its infancy.

Also, Blizzard is revolting these days - bringing in pets to the cash shop in WoW and using charity to muddy the waters and help establish the precedent is a fine example. Heck, most of the MMO industry is now disgusting, having been swept up in the free to p(l)ay movement. The irony is that so many of you players out there, along with the staff on this site, have been manipulated into being such good little consumers that you'll be defending gaming companies no matter what they try on.

Not that long ago, we as a society shifted from being need-based consumers to want-based consumers, all quite carefully orchestrated by big business using the theories developed by Sigmund Freud. A nice example is how they got women to take up smoking. You think they stopped there? You think they have ever stopped?

I think you are taking games way too seriously. Nice post, though, but I stand by my statement :).

It just became the most pre-ordered game in Amazon history... And that's not even counting the battle.net purchases. You my friend are the minority. Have fun playing D2 though... Lol.
