Human Thief will be my main, and human Mesmer will be my first alt.

A couple months ago, I thought I knew, now I'm not sure.
I'm hoping to figure it out during the beta weekends. I'll probably start with an Engineer to see if I can stand having guns as my weapons. I also like the complexity of Elementalist and the class dynamics for the Necromancer. For style, I like Thief and Ranger. I want to see if a Spirit Weapon based Guardian is viable. I like the Warrior's walking arsenal of weapon choices and Mesmers might make a Trickster archetype actually work.
::sigh::
Well, at least I can look forward to lots of alts, no matter which one I take to the level cap first.
This has changed now 8 times in the last 3 weeks, this game is driving me nutz.
It's a new condition brought to us by GW2 and the press:)
In BWE's I'll be sticking to Human as it is the least interesting race to me and I don't want to spoil story. Then I'm going to try in this order (could change my mind tomorrow, because like you I've change my mind a lot on this, actually changed my mind typing this):
Warrior, Necromancer, Engineer, Elementalist, Guardian...In no particular order.
Warrior: loads of weapons, lots of different build options. Warriors are pretty much the iconic master of combat, easy to play, hard to master.
Necromancer: My favorite class in GW1 and GW2. It is very fun to go around in cloth armor and take more hits than nearly anything else (with lots of life steal, life force, and meat shields)
Engineer: I can't wait to try out some trait builds I have been thinking up for engineers. I particularly like the explosive trait line.
Guardian: Wammo...GW2 version. What's not to like.
Why not mesmer, ranger or thief?
Mesmer: I think they rock, but I could never get into the playstyle of the GW1 mesmer.
Ranger: I tried it out at PAX Prime 2010 (a LOT of things have changed since then) and I really didn't feel like the pet added that much to my experience while running around. I will probably look into them post release.
Thief: I lied...I am totally buying character slots to play a thief. They look very fun to play.
I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.
Prolly gonna play a Human Guardian or a Human Ranger in the beta because I am saving the Norn zones for release. Plus I will not play a Thief, Mesmer or Warrior during beta because Im still figuring out which of those 3 I will play at release.
Playing: GW2 Waiting on: TESO Next Flop: Planetside 2 Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
9. Human Warrior (As a tribute to my OG Guild Wars Warrior)
I want to try every profession and then I will determine my main - honestly I'm thinking it will be really difficult to pick one. I enjoy the diversity as they all seem fun to me, and in other games I had fun playing all professions/classes. ^^
I see alot of you telling us what you plan to play first, usually in preferred order, but why do you plan on playing these professions. What makes them your chosen favorites? What draws you to them?
I stated my reasons for choosing the Ranger...its one of my all-time favorite professions as I like to do support dps. That and the fact that I loved the BeastLord profession in Everquest and they're very similar.
The reason I want to play the Elementalist is for the huge array of spells and lets face it, spells are shiny :P Look at the pretty lights!
The reason I want to play the Mesmer is because it looks way fun in PVP with all the possibilities for confusing your enemies. I've watched a few videos of the Mesmer pvp and people do attack thier clones alot, not knowing which is the real you.
Tell me whyyyyyyyy your favorite profession is...your favorite profession =^-^=
ranger for me, still waiting on final Sylvari and Asura to decide on the race. Ill play elementalist second same dilemna. After that I will most likely make 1 of each race avoiding thief and probably warrior too.
editing for Mrhyde Ranger because I always play it, I love ranged/bow DPS and I love pet classes. Ele I dunno.. I just really like what they have done with it.

Human Thief. And if there is too many of those running about then Sylvari Warrior.
Will roll a thief, warrior and Mesmer as well.
1. Asura Guardian
2. Sylvari Thief

As an altoholic i will play in this order :
Asura Elementalist
Human Necromancer
Norn Guardian
Silvari Mesmer
CHarr Warrior
And then i still might want to try the engineer and maybe the rogue.
Going for Charr Necromancer in the open beta....
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Everything you need to know about Elder Scrolls Online
Playing: GW2
Waiting on: TESO
Next Flop: Planetside 2
Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
16% thief and 16% necro at the top of the poll
Lol, blame it on totalbiscuit and yogscast
If I decide to play it, I'm going to go with engineer. I've always loved engineer gameplay in other games, particularly when turrets were part of it.
Gonna start by doing almost nothing but Cartography to assist the Wiki.
...IOW: gotta go fast, gotta go ranger...
I'll start playing the actual game AFTER we get everything mapped.
1. Charr Warrior
2. Human Thief
3. Human Guardian
4. Norn Ranger
5. Human Mesmer
6. Sylvari Necromancer
7. Asuran Elementalist
8. Charr Engineer
9. Human Warrior (As a tribute to my OG Guild Wars Warrior)

I can't decide between the downlisted professions,I'll play all of them but which one will be my main is still undecided
1.Human Guardian
2.Norn Elementalist
3.Charr Engineer
In the land of Predators, the lion does not fear the jackals...
Have the following professions in mind
1 Necromancer
2 Elementalist
3 Ranger
in dat order.
Well:
1- Sylvari Elementalist
2- Asura Necromancer
3- Human Guardian
4- Asura Thief
5- Char Warrior
Starting small:
1. Sylvari Elementalist
2. Human or Norn: Thief or Ranger (having trouble deciding)
First I want to master Necro, learn all available playstyles with it.
During the process my next char prolly gonna pop out from my head. :]
SexuaLobster's Grease Portal
Of course Guardian sounds interesting too...
That sounds quite painful.
