I have a question. I agree with that image. But I wonder what the solution is. If we don't use a bar and we don't use a count, we could just not have something to keep track. But is that any better? We would still collect crap and kill crap.

Yeah, I agree that you need some kind of reference. Problem is though, the game still tells you exactly how much you need to do with seemingly random tasks: "investigate 6 nests", when an npc needs you escorting him from nest to nest to find this perfect hatchling, was one example. They should never mention the total number on things that should at least SEEM random.
But this pic might be overly harsh as it doesn't show how you can stumble upon DE's and complete them without ever picking up the quest first. This is perhaps the most novel aspect of DE's. Whether their actual tasks will be very chorelike and dumbed down, we'll have to see.

Half the quests ive seen seem random because they give no pointer and the other half gives some kind of number. I personally hope its just because its in the beggining areas and they are trying to ease people in the style of the game.
