It wasn't long ago that I wrote an article about how humans will eventually meld with machines and then eventually become extinct. As we race faster ahead technologically we'll spend more time in virtual worlds and synthetic bodies(bodies so real you cannot tell them apart from a body produced the old fashioned way - the difference being that the synthetic body will be free of diseases, cancer, and easily repaired or replaced).
Anyway...here is a great website that tries to look into a distant future based on what is happening now and the immediate future and then tries to expound upon the knowledge by looking at our past and how we have advanced to where we are today.
Future Timeline <<< clicky
Though there are a number of things at this website I take issues with, I think from the many other websites like it I have come across, this one takes you right to the end of the Universe itself. ^_^
If we are to see possible timeline such as this occur, we as a human species will first have to throw of the rediculous notions of tribalism, religion, and nationality.

Thanks for sharing. There is a number of things I don't like but all in all it's a very interesting website. It made me think. A lot.
Do you know who runs it?
Somebody named Will Fox. Here is a link to his personal website. WillFox.com there is also this contact info if you wish to ask about the website here >>> [email protected]
Thank you!
I just thought .. it was a lot of work to create such a website. I wondered who would do something like that.
Thx for the link...but
Things never turn out the way you expect. Such "Future Timelines" were available already in the past, how people would see the year 2020 or something similar and reality always looks different.
We advance in technology a lot slower than some maybe think.
Nice site..
The future is certainly exciting and scary. It's amazing how far we've gone in the last 50 years, and the next 50 will probably be mindblowing bizzare.
Interesting stuff, thanks for posting.
?
That is very interesting. Thanks for the link. Will have to take a look at it more later. First thing I clicked on was 2022...CHINA WILL HAVE ITS FIRST SPACE STATION!
I took issue with these:

Of course, after that, most of this is really wild speculation. Simply put, the world economy and the very state of our future lives is in kind of a hanging balance right now. But it will be decided at some point. Either we see major decline, or major fixes. This site supposes that the hanging balance will be still going by the 2030's. I have a feeling it will be decided by the 20's or earlier. Of course, only time decides whether I am right, or the site.
My blog is a continuing story of what MMO's should be like.
Retro Futurism is also quiete interesting:

The future is more easily predicted because we have a better understanding and knowledge of the universe around us, and that knowledge is growing exponentially.
If you have any websites that give insight into what science is doing today or what the future holds, please feel free to add to this conversation.

Back when I was a kid I remember reading pen and paper RPG books like some GURPS expansions, Shadowrun and Cyberpunk 2020 and I remember how thrilled I got when I readed about their visions on the future, how the nations merged, what wars happened... the same type of future speculations on this website.
Ill have o change that by switching to be a biology major and creating killer jellyfish and zombies. Or ill stick to creating robots... Robots with rockie launchers ftw!
Sorry on phone but heres the rockie
