Was talking about Wizardry and old school dungeon crawlers with some the people at work and one guy brought up this neat game that's coming out in April: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HnTeQFBIq0
It seems like it might be an interesting title to follow for fans of stuff like Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Pool of radiance, Wizardry, etc.

I opened this thread because I thought it said Legend of Grimlock as in the Transformers:) O.T, this looks cool. Very Eye of the beholder. Good find o.p, will watch out for this one. Really do miss these kind of games......Ahhhhh....The nostalgia
Oh wow, watching that video takes me back to the days of Wizardry, Lands of Lore, Dungeon Hack, Stonekeep, etc. Nice find, thanks for bringing it to attention.
Been waiting on this one for awhile now, but if you're feeling the urge to play something similar until this releases, there is always Frayed Knights: The Skull of S'makh-Daon which is out now. Its more comedic in nature, but its a great classic dungeon crawler nonetheless.
Just like Dungeon Master. The RT + pickup items and spell runes is very immediate/v good control system. Wonder if you can use the doors to crush the monsters - click switch/pull-leaver above monster and stand in the way

This is an Insta Buy.
Throne of Chaos flashbacks.
Looks pretty cool. One thing I never liked about some of these games though, is the attack, then step back tactic to leave the monster unable to retaliate while you wait for your attack "cooldowns" to finish. I always felt like I was cheating when I did this, since the monsters don't have the same option.
I much preferred the isometric tactical mode of the Gold Box games. For one, it wasn't exploitable. Secondly, it was more like chess and an action game. Thirdly, seeing your characters graphically in action was cool as Hell.
In addition this also allowed you to fight massive hordes of monsters at once. And allowed for spells suitable for those situations. Clearing a whole screen of lower-level monsters with a well-placed fireball was quite satisfying.
Does anyone remember the Ishar games? They had some incredibly beautiful overland areas with a very open feel to them. Most outdoor areas in these types of games were designed much more claustrophobicaly.
I jsut found this game out a few days ago and I agree 100%. Its very old school retro sort of reminds me of my favorite Sega Genesi game I played back in the early 90's called Shining in the Darkness.
I am def buying this game when it comes out.

AWESOOOME!
Although I liked choosing the chars in DM in the hall of mirrors.
The disable auto-map feature is very in keeping with how it should be - no GPS in dungeons!

You are very welcome sir. Thanks for bringing the game to my attention.:)
Ot. Think I will wait for the Steam version, just in case there is some Sweet dlc later on. But that's a steal from Gog.com at $11.99 for a pre-order. Really looking forward to this.
I like the theme music. Not sure I'd be able to bring myself to playing a dungeon crawler in this day and age though.
Maybe once it's on sale.
Looks good if it was the year 2000 all over again.
Grim Dawn, the next great action rpg!
