I bought The Burning Crusade signed Collector’s Edition from Oxford Street, London.. I really enjoyed WoW then and the hype for the first Expansion.

Since the TBC, nothing to me has offered any real excitement towards a game to even merit the purchasing of a Collector’s Edition.......... until Guild Wars 2, it is relighting a bit of that hype and I will defiantly be pre-ordering the Collector’s Edition!! :D

All hail the Barn Owl! oh.. and the RED SQUIRREL!!!

    Digital Deluxe.

    20 bucks more, why not?

  • KabaalKabaal Member UncommonPosts: 3,042

Digital Deluxe. I don't really care about the fluff extras but am paying more simply due to them having the nads to go B2P. If i knew for a fact that i'd love the game i'd splurge on the CE... but i won't know that until it's in my hands so £130 is too much for a gamble.

Plain ol' Digital for me. None of the items in the Deluxe or CE are appealing enough to warrant spending more cash. Of course, I've never been one to spend a ton on a single game.

Better question is why? What is it in the digital items you want so bad you will spend 20 bucks more? I dont see anything. 100% SE for me.

Basic digital for me.  I'm cheap!  Heh.  And $20 to upgrade?  That's a month's playtime!

Why do you need to have something in it that you want badly for the extra investment? You can do it to support a company you believe in or just because you got loads of money and you just want the extra fluff.

I personally im buying 2 CE and 6 Digital deluxe. 1 for me and my GF and the other 6 for my friends

Probably DE, because my financial situation isn't the greatest, but I kinda want the Digital Deluxe.  Collectors, no way.

    Digital Deluxe probably.

Probably standard here. I'm not a big spender when it comes to games unless it's something I really want.

I'll probably go Digital Deluxe. Although if I could guarantee making a nice profit on ebay with the CE figurine I'd go for that instead :p

Does anyone have a link for the UK prices, please?  Apparently it's more expensive over here (what a surprise!), and I'd like to know the prices for the different versions before deciding.

The CE price is right there on their site, £130 vs $150, so about $50 more expensive.

I dont give away my money, they need to give me something I value. ANet is going to have to do a lot better on the digital items to get me to drop 20 more bucks. SWTOR had better digital items and theirs was just ok at best. I need to see digital items for GW2 I would want on every char I make and  I dont see one in the current digital items. I really hope ANet takes a hard look at this.

Looking at the Collector's Edition myself, while I'm not big on the Charr and would have prefered a Sylvari statue I do like the statue and will gladly add it to my small collection.

I'll be going with the standard edition. I was going to go with whatever digital CE they planned on offering since all of that is...well...digital so buying directly from them would give them some extra cash. But for $20 I expect more than temporary items. Hell for $10 I expect more than temporary items. I would have given them $20 more had it been the pet and the golem but just the pet?

The only thing the digital CE really did was show me what they plan on doing with the cash shop and I dont like it. If they really think a mini pet that does nothing but look cute and a couple temporary items are worth $20 then I think the cash shop is going to be way overpriced in the future.

Digital deluxe..i love arenanet, but double to price for a miniature and a book..i aint that much of a collector anyway

As much as I want this game to succeed I have been burned too many times by other MMOs to dish out

extra money for a game. SWTOR was the last time I throw money for a CE or Deluxe version.  So I am simply going

with the Standard edition which provides me with pleny of pre-order perks!

  • JimmydeanJimmydean Member UncommonPosts: 1,290

The figure you get with the CE is actually really cool. That said, I don't really feel like spending that much on a figure to sit on my desk. Regular edition it is lol.

Only ever care about in-game items, so Deluxe for me. Couple friends collect those statues so they will be getting the CE. Looking forward to the crying over the wolf elite skill. The haves and have not's...

It also comes with an exclusive elite skill I believe. Besides I've seen many people waste money on 30 day duration items and things that were complete fluff that getting 2 permanent things and a 3 day headstart seems like a good deal for a no subscription game.

A mere 20$ more for these things seem worth it to me, the rest of the consumable one time per use is just a nice extra.

Digital Deluxe, because there is no monthly fee.

I would gladly pay monthly fee if this game delivers on the promises, and im certain that it will on almost all areas.

Maybe i'll buy a new copy every few months to support the devs image
