For most of us, we have wanted to play in the GW2 beta. Now that it is here, what will you be trying out the most, IF, you get into the beta. (what I mean is what will you be testing the most, doing the most, etc.)

You can answer this poll and/or reply telling what you would be doing the most in the GW2 beta event.

Hmm I'll be doing all really...IF i get in!

Nail my char's looks down. Participate in as many dynamic events as I can and PvP as much as I can.

Currently waiting for the MMO industry to put out something good.

I choose PvP but that because with poor PvP the game overall sucks unless it  is purely a PvE game.

If I get in I want to see if it is really a MMO. Remember GW wasn't a MMO and had crap PvE content.

I'll be attempting to break the game, in every way possible.

Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.

pvp will be the centerpiece of the game. just a hunch

  • steeler989steeler989 Member UncommonPosts: 665

I will be testing EVERYTHING!!!... That I possibly can, of course, I just have to get into the beta : )

Beta is meant to test everything and not just a single thing.

Personally, I will try out the UI, traits, skills and crafting.  Plenty of vids already out there on character creation, and PvP, so I will probably explore and hit DEs as well.

We've been waiting for the actual game really. But I get your point.

  • FancyFancy Member Posts: 11

I tend to spend hours on the character creation screen to make the perfect char but I'm planning to spend more time in-game testing dynamic events, other stuff and report bugs if there's any (that's what beta testers should do after all). So, my vote goes for dynamic events. I'll have plenty of time to make pretty characters after official release.

I know it is to test everything, but some people will want to test one thing over the other, the whole point of this post was to see what perople will be wanting to test the most.

I want to test out class combos with friends or other random players.  I'll wait until they drop some ground effect and see what I can do with it.  I want to see how rewarding they feel.

I want to reach a high enough level that I will be able to explore several zones, hopefully learning just how seamless or zoned-off the world is.

I want to actually fail some DEs to see just how far the cycles progress in the opposite direction.

I want to participate in enough DEs to guage just how unique or similar they feel.

I want to at least try every single class, though I suspect I will become enamored with one or 2 and play those almost exclusively.

I want to roam around with a small group of friends and try to capture some of the smaller WvW objectives: supply spots, caravan escorts, scout towers.

I want to craft, craft, craft, since this seems to be one aspect of the game that most testers thus far have been least impressed by.  I want to see if every piece you craft does indeed have a practical use in the game world as Anet has claimed it would--though I suspect this would require a working, active marketplace, which isn't usually a staple of betas since everying is temporary and will ultimately be lost.  Nevertheless, it's something I'm really interested in trying.

I want to see just how difficult dungeons are, how much more difficult explorable mode is from story mode (which of course assumes I will actually complete story mode), and just how viable any class setup can be.  Will dungeons become easier if all 5 players (regardless of class) choose abilities and traits optimized for survivability and defense?  All out offense?  Or will a mix of both be optimal?

I will want to spend at least 6 hours in character creation with the various, beautiful races...but I'll probably need to force myself to move on.

I want to use a flamethrower at least once.

Finally, as a sprouting Sylvari, I wish to wake from this wretched Dream of Dreams already and bask in the warm glow of the Grove's sunlight.

Basically, I want to *test* anything I have thus far perceived to be a potential weakness to an otherwise phenomenal looking game.

Crafting, it's probably the least inspiring looking aspect of the game at the moment, I'm still interested in seeing what can be achieved and how it could effect the economy. Other than that just playing and reporting bugs.

Do not bash GW1 just because in YOUR OPINION it sucks... I'm still playing GW1 (as do many others) and it's really really good. The story (PVE content) in this game is by far better than most of the MMORPGS today. Stop this stupid stereotype "I'll try GW2 but GW1 was a complete garbage FOR ME"...

I agree with you, the story was DEEP, especially Eye of the North. THAT was my favorite story.

Chat Box? really? I can play IM for that.

  • ScypherothScypheroth Member Posts: 264

no full loot pvp...this is nto what i have been waiting for nor will it be what i play alot...ill  play it...but will keep my eyes out for sumthign better.

  • I plan on sticking to Humans and trying out thief and engineer, don't want to ruin the other race stories.

The main thing I want to get my hands on right now is crafting.  Just from the meh impressions from many of the press I worry that it might get neglected by the testers.  Personally I really like that many recipes must be discovered by actually crafting them verses visiting a trainer.

Now that I've shared these plans you watch me not able to resist taking my brand new Asuran Guardian out to the Mists and never getting back to PVE:)
