My guild keep growing every single day, i didnt notice a drop in the server popultaion at all, and looks like is growing. You know? http://www.torstatus.net/  have some info about the server population, you´ll notice that the ¨population¨ is actually, growing and not droping.

LMAO! Funny you bring exactly that up, as that one is actually playing against you.

Before you just blindly posted that link, did you actually check the Overal population index for both EU and US servers?

You would have seen that the trend is downwards, not upwards. /sigh

It's one thing to think that the population is falling, it's another to just ignore facts.  It's been widely reported on that Server Caps have been raised on all of the servers since release.  A full server became very heavy, very heavy became heavy and so on.  I'm not saying that there hasn't been any drop off, but to cite that as your evidence while being either too ignorant of the facts, or too biased to present them is at best irresponsible and at worst malicious.

Also, your "decoding" of the December 31st/February 1st issue with earnings report vs. prepared comments is just factually incorrect.  You're reading it wrong.

Click on server stats, so you can see whats going on with the population right now, green numbers mean an increase. And you dont even know how to read it, is a day by day graph so the downward and upward that you see is the difference between primetime and the rest of the day.

I 100% agree with the OP, numbers are spun based on the ambiguious active/30 day-free trial issue bonanza.  But we shall see.

On a side note, the success of SWTOR is going to have little to no impact on macro-environmental factors in the gaming industry.  Everyone already knows EA sucks, and this was way before there was even a glimpse of SWTOR on the horizon.

The leadership of SWTOR is just placating the investors with this spin, taking a huge risk on the bet that they'll be able to save the game in the next 30 days, which in my honest oppinion, is an insurmountable task.

If I was them, I would extend the trial period to 60 days, let them push out some end game content, i.e. PvP brackets, new open world dynamics, whatever, and it'll buy them another month to fix stuff up.

EA won't do any of this, because of greed, but that's just EA.  Other games will fare much better though.

Back to mining Ice in Eve,

No it isn't. the graphs I posted shows the trend since launch.

What you just showed is the higher number of users in weekends compared to the weekdays.

It always fluctuates and goes up and down and up and down all the time.

But the links I posted shows the graph of activity over the whole period since launch.

Unless you own some EA stock, I really don't see why you'd care if TOR was a success or a flop.

You know, sometimes these threads remind me of a kid saying My dad could beat up your dad, with some replying with NUH UH! Still, they entertain me when you see people honestly wanting a game to fail because its success automatically means all other MMOs will be like it. I guess what I'm saying is, if you hate SWTOR's mechanics, theres GW2 coming out, The Secret World might play a bit differently, or perhaps someday when Archage comes out it can be your chosen game. While Rift has some differences from WoW, its gameplay isn't all that different. Its a good game to be sure, despite me canceling my sub. Now before you tar and pitch me for that, I'm likely to cancel my SWTOR sub, since most MMOs just don't last me.

Still I know whatever I post or anyone else does won't stop these threads attempting to convince people to stop enjoying SWTOR or sculding them for enjoying the game. So meh, whatever.

Server load status very little in regards to population.

For example lets say at release they cap the server at 2000 people . five status levels from each consisting of 400 players per level. That would mean light would be 0-399,  heavywould be 1600-2000. Sounds all fine and dandy right? Nope

The problem is EA controls how each status level is determined & can manipulate it however they want..

They could make a heavy status be a 50% load if they wanted to make the severs seem to be full of more players and they could change it at any point (without telling people). That alone makes it a completely unreliable way to evaluate server load status. Any site that ranks server trends by analyzing a load status that can be changed at any time without them knowing is doomed to be very innaccurate.

No one is here saying people should stop enjoying SW:TOR.

I still play it myself, enjoy the storylines for now....

But I keep a very close eye on financials and numbers, as anyone who knows EA well enough, knows that the moment this game shows a decline in sub numbers or isn't meeting EA's financial expectations, they gonna clean house within this Bioware studio swing the lay off axe left and right... resulting the game ending up on maintenance mode.

MMO's are a time investment. I like to be in it for the long haul... but the moment I see the MMO I play has no bright future, I rather bail out in time, without waisting both time and money on it and rather spend it elsewhere.
