2012 will bring some big, sweeping changes to Turbine's Dungeons & Dragons Online. One of the most exciting is the journey into the Underdark, a Forgotten Realms setting that should give players a lot to look forward to and that's just the beginning. Check out what else Turbine has up their collective sleeve for DDO in our exclusive report.

To say there are big changes coming to Dungeons & Dragons Online is an understatement. We spoke with the team at Turbine this past week, and there are massive sweeping changes coming to the game which will truly break ground for D&D and gamers all over the MMO space. As the game begins its sixth anniversary the new content coming is a huge shift for D&D fans. Prepare gamers as you are about to enter The Underdark!

    I know I'm supposed to try and be impartial, but: EXCITED. I can get behind a DDO in this setting, that's for damn sure.

    Me too. One of the reasons I don't play DDO is that the current setting holds no interest for me. This on the other hand...

    I get twitchy whenever 5E is mentioned, but let's wait and see.

    I played free trial before it went f2p and I thought it was funn but then lotro and WoW got their claws in me. This may make me try it again, ill have to see what the f2p restrictions are though.

    The only problem I see here is that the Forgotten Realms deserves its own separate game. Still, I thinks it's a good thing.

    I wonder if they are drawing on Salvatore's work much or at all.

    I thought they weren't allowed to go anywhere near the Forgotten Realms setting due to the licensing agreement? Or is there a 'Underdark', in Eberron as well?

     

    Must admit I'm a tad confused, intrigued, but confused, and by 'intrigued', I mean I third on the crapping pants stage.

    Man, that's AWESOME news!  Much as I tried, I could never get into the Ebberon setting.  Not in DDO, not in PnP.  Just too much magic and funky races(fortunately, the silliest of them aren't in DDO).

    Big question though, is, am I gonna have to be 20th level to get to FR?

    Wow, DDO is looking better and better. Although did everyone just read the part about Forgetten Realms, pitch a tent and stop reading? Cosmetic pets... wtf? This seems like a cash shop square peg being forced into a round hole... maybe I'm just too removed from the game now to see where it has gone since I left...

    if you dont know who she is check dritz dohurden and related book ,evil in swtor?lol it is child play ,they got lot of slave war vs each other in aim to be the master house over all and loth like it cause only the most powerfull shall survive to top it all of  she corrupt them to the max some actually became spider etc!wow this is epic ,but i wonder cause in the book it is said that only a very very light cant recall the color ,like it is worst then night they are at the edge of nightvision spectrum from how it is described human cant see in there only the light we see and they re so dim they are like candle to human try to light a 10k cave with 1 candle every 500 feet and those candle are in sahde and hue so not to blind lot minion cause they never saw the sun and most get blinded by the moon(ya you dont see fuck all.wow this will be interesting if they keep to the look and feel described in the book

    might be a bit scary ,(minion in there tend to be unseeable and tend to want to eat everything around them lol

    men i read those book and always was gaga over the detail the writer went to explain how underdark look,let me tell you if they do this right ,cave never got this jolting and scary

    Umm...  I'm not a 'huge fan' but even I know that the goddess' name is 'Lolth'  not 'Lloth'.
