My family is looking for a new gaming rig this christmas. I came across this Newegg "hot deal"
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227369&cm_sp=Tab_PCs_%26%2338%3b_Laptops-_-Hot_Deals-_-83-227-369
What do you guys think? Is this computer a good "gaming" computer & is it a "good buy" for @ $650?
two things that I did not like.. only 2 RAM slots & PCI Slots (Available/Total)
1 x PCI-Express x16
1 x PCI slot
.... BTW.. I really appreciate everyone's responses (Esp TY Quizzical) .. its nice to know that the community is so readily helpful in such a 'good samaritan' type way.
have a great Monday! :-D

I don't think it's a good buy. You'd probably have to replace the psu to avoid problems, and even then the gpu isn't great, and the cpu isn't great(but acceptable). You'd get a lot more just building it if your comfortable with that (it's really not hard at all, just gotta do a little reading on compatibility and how to build ect), or having someone reliable build it for you.
If it was a quality psu and you really didn't want to build it, then i would say maybe a decent buy(compared to some of the other ridiculous prices for premades), but I would bet it's some crappy psu ibuypower likes to throw on their pc's, and that will cause you trouble at some point.
The processor has its uses, but is a poor choice for gaming. The power supply is don't-play-games-until-you've-replaced-it awful. The motherboard is barren and featureless. The video card doesn't make sense unless the goal is low power consumption (if it had GDDR5, it would say so). The hard drive will probably be painfully slow (if it were 7200 RPM, it would say so). The case is a severe budget model, but functional enough for a severe budget system. The memory might be all right. Maybe.
Don't get a prebuilt computer. If you can't assemble your own parts, then get something built to order from a site that will let you pick the exact parts.

No. Please no.
He who keeps his cool best wins.
For 650$ it better have a much better graphics card than a 6670 and a better processor that a triple core 2.8ghz.
Edit: Bah I misread, not a triple core a 6 core, which makes the choice of the 6670 even more odd.
2nd edit: Holy crap my reading skills are off tonight, fixed another misread.
Of 6 reviews on the first page, 2 went back as defective. That's not a good sign.
That list is an eyesore, you should just link to CPU, PSU, GPU, RAM, HDD, Motherboard and that's it.
I would really recommend to try and make your own PC, if you need to upgrade it's much easier to know where everything is.
The PSU is only 480W, which is relatively low, you should really get a 600W PSU to be comfortable, it also doesn't mention the brand apparently.
The problem is that the page only specifies one of those.
No not really I would never buy a Ready Built Computer unless you know all the specs including expanded specs, like for example.
1. What is the Memory Latency, they could be sticking you with some piece of crap.
2. The Memory itseslf is only two memory chips, what type of memory are you getting.
3. The processor is only Six Cores, those are outdated. *8 CORE CPU's will be the Standard Soon*
4. How many RPM is the Hard Disk, how much cache is it.
5. Wait What, 480 Watt Power Supply Gotta be kidding me.
You do not know these things, I am not saying you couldn't play certain online games with it, but if you can afford a good computer depending how much you have to spend, I would save up $1000 -$2000 USD and build your own with an 8 Core AMD CPU, I would not waste my money on something I dont know exactly what I am buying, and usually it makes it harder the way they bundle the software to know exactly what you are getting as well.
Unless you have no other choice I would just go custom all the way.
