A true sandbox

I think that now, after the removal of attributes, this game is complete sandbox in terms of skills. I used to hate that when creating a toon, you basically gave it a direct guide where it will steer - either industry, trade or military.

Now, after the removal of attributes, every skill costs the same to train time wise and you can literally create a toon that mines, does pvp and trades without any major drawback.

If you havent alreay, Id suggest everyone hesitating to give this game a try.

I think the phrases you were looking for were "skill based" and "no skill limitations".  Being more skill  based (vs class based) is more "sandboxy".  Removing limitations (skill caps, being tied to certain attributes) on skills isn't.  It just shifts you from a virtual world with specialization and an interdependent economy towards a sandbox filled with "jack of all trades" characters.

You could have 'jack of all trades' characters anyway. In fact, you did (do). But you wouldn't go out mining in your combat robot. The differentiation was in the robots, not the skills.

Your skills get progressively more expensive to level up, so that differentiation is going to happen whether you want it to or not. Not everyone wants to be a combat specialist.

Finally, like a few other games, you won't get anywhere as a solo 'jack of all trades' character. Even if you get all your skills maxed out with the best set of robots ever made, you'd walk out into the pvp zone and get stomped by one of the corps.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

I did give it a go. The gfx engine is so horrid I quit after 10 minutes. I was getting under 20fps will all options turned down on a PC that runs WAR maxed out at 80fps.
