Hi all,

Need to pick up new game I guess....

Sure my hope is for GW2 but seems it will delay again, so I wonder what everyone planning to play?

Any tips about nice games WoW style will be appreciate. Or may be anything totally new to try?

Thanks for reply!!!

try before buy, even if it's a game to avoid bad surprises.

Lol, I just don't know.  I pre-ordered SWTOR, I want to play GW2, plus I want to play Secret World.  Since I can't play them all, I don't know what I am going to do.  I hope they space them out enough that I can play one, decide to move on, play a different one and repeat the procesw.  Its not really a matter of paying for all three that confounds me, its that I just don't have the time.

    thanks,

not sure about SWTOR yet, and can't see anything else to be attractive so far...

Guild Wars 2 and The Secret World.  If I pick up SWTOR it will be as filler until the first of those releases.  I'm not likely to so much as glance at anything else.

Well, if you have nothing else to play, SW:TOR will probably be a great choice.

Massive story content (200 hours pure class story for 8 starter classes alone), huge world size, and everything else you can possibly demand from a mainstream themepark MMO.

About myself, I am unsure. SW:TOR will probably be a success, and I am kind of torn between (a) continue to play Vanguard and play SW:TOR later, (b) playing Vanguard and SW:TOR in parallel, or (c) pausing from Vanguard to play SW:TOR.

I plan to play GW2, The Secret World, hopefully ArcheAge and I'll hop in and out of my current MMOs for their content patches or expansions, those being Lotro, WoW, Rift, EQ2.  I MAY pick up SWTOR just to see what they do post launch and if they listen to the playerbase, but after playing beta...I'm just not excited about it at all, and that's saying a lot for a Star Wars fan/MMORPG junky.

I am sitting the 2012 year out, like the past two years. Although I have started up Eve Online so I suppose I am actually playing an MMO again. Making posting on these forums seem a little less silly.

The skull says I'll be playing Diablo 3.

I don't argue with the skull anymore.

Might pick up GW2, otherwise it looks to be a MMORPG-less 2012 for me. Current state of the genre makes RL far more palatable than the games available.

    Guild Wars 2.

GW2. Other than that, I'm pretty much done with MMO's they just aren't fun anymore. I'll be playing skyrim 80% of the time or 95% of the time depending on how saints row 3 is. And depending on GTA5. but that'll probably come out in 2013 or something. But the world will end. So I guess Skyrim since it will have the most replayability via mods.

Getting fatigued by the MMORPG genre.  So far 2012 looks like Skyrim.

Next year, I'll be looking forward to Guild Wars 2, Firefall, MechWarrior Online and Wildstar.  At 2012 though?  Nothing really.  It doesn't look like anything that interests me will be out by then.  I was hoping for Firefall, but that looks like it's been pushed into the new year.  I'll probably end up playing something I pick up during the Steam Christmas sale.

    SC2 and maybe GW2

  • UsulDaNeriakUsulDaNeriak Member Posts: 640

of course i will play them all, except the ones which are obviously dumb wow-clones, asia-grinders or just multiplayer games with a hub and some maps calling themselves MMO incorrectly.

however my hope, that a real MMORPG with challenging gameplay, meanigful skills and high tactical versatility will thrill me in 2012, is small. there is a little bit hope about GW2 and ArcheAge but i would be very surprised, if i could bravely endure TSW, SWTOR or TERA more than a few days.

played: Everquest I (6 years), EVE (3 years)
months: EQII, Vanguard, Siedler Online, SWTOR, Guild Wars 2
weeks: WoW, Shaiya, Darkfall, Florensia, Entropia, Aion, Lotro, Fallen Earth, Uncharted Waters
days: DDO, RoM, FFXIV, STO, Atlantica, PotBS, Maestia, WAR, AoC, Gods&Heroes, Cultures, RIFT, Forsaken World, Allodds

Most likely Swtor, if that doesn't end up being of my taste then I'll pick up GW2.

    not gw2

    Make it so...

  • pvpirlpvpirl Member UncommonPosts: 178

i'll TRY GW2. I cant think of anything about it thta excites me though. It's more like "Welp, it's not WoW, and it'll be the least shitty fantasy MMO out there for a while.. /sigh might as well."

I think were in a dead space between the slow decline of WoW, and an MMO Cold war. The Communist east of F2P GW2 V.S. The Capitalist west in Subscription-based SWTOR.

Developers will watch how it plays out. I think we'll see the BIG budget "wow killers" everyones been waiting for in 2013-2014.

    I'm dissapointed captain Picard :)

I will definately play gw2 (hope it comes Q1), and any other single player game worth playing.

  • IlliusIllius Member UncommonPosts: 4,142

Probably nothing.  The probability of nothing increases exponentially as funds become more readily available.  I plan to be busy with other things and gaming is really starting to take a back seat to everything else.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

SWTOR, Skyrim, and Planetside 2. That will cover all the based of what kind of games I'm into.

I'll be playing City of Heroes for sure and likely pop in on DC Universe Online occasionally.  Both have a free to play entry point if you've never tried them.  Vanguard might get some money from me if they actually release a few more patches proving SOE is actually dedicated to it.
