SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

Warhammer Online players have a lot to look forward to with the arrival of the game's annual Daemon Moon Rising festival which will run from October 20th through November 3rd.

The team has lots of fun in store for players in the form of new public quests, holiday-themed gear and more.

The Daemon Moon Rising Live Event boasts eight tasks ranging from slaying 50 of the most fiendish daemons to completing the "Daemonball Rally" Public Quest. Players can also gain influence by completing a variety of tasks while wearing the dreaded Daemon Masks! There is also one quest chain for each Realm-including Tier-specific versions of each quest so that players of all Ranks can participate!

on another note. so mush potential, so little executed right. bit i still sub, and play a few times a month though.

glad that they are wporking on swtor pvp, since the team pvp in this game is actually very solid.

Holy cow...you said something positive about WAR...get ready for the s**tstorm of flames!!!

Minus balance issues, WAR has one of the best PvP systems in MMO's...  They may have fixed the balance issues by now, not sure since I don't sub anymore.  The RvR lakes and keep raids were a blast until the whole WP/BW fiasco exploded!!!

They fix the balance by implementing major gear grind. Now instead of blaming other classes are op people will try to win thru gear. Sadly this will further discourage new player into the game.

make this damn game F2P or Freemium  already...its like  in a comatose  state...maybe  those few  who still play/pay  should pull the plug and let it  die...

Wont happen, they have stated the game will not go F2P.  Only reason it's still around at all is that it must making some kind of profit, they have relatively few poeple working on the game full time anymore.  Electronic Arts does not want this game to take anything away from the supposed best MMO in the world SWTOR.  The game flopped and they just gave up pretty much.  They haven't even updated the news on the front page of their website in 14 months....Such a sad game.

There is also second thing. Converting such big game as Warhammer Online and doing it right would require quite alot of money and workforce (hiring new ppl propably since old team is either on Swtor or other projects or not working anymore at Mythic / EA at all).

Truth may be simpler - there is just no willingness to practically restart this game. Hiring lot of new staff, developing some sizeable new content to show off for f2p, developing store system, modify game systems and mechanics for f2p for cash shop things to sell good, finally spend alot of money for marketting. Not to mention new community staff, more bandwidtch, uppcing server specs, etc

Niche game going f2p need less money investments than big AAA title (nevermind it's current popularity) like Warhammer Online.

Apart of that competition of f2p field rise ALOT and quick. Might not be THAT profitable as first f2p conversions like DDO...

In Asia there is nothing weird about f2p games closing down as well or simply flopping at release. Happened to few less known titles in west as well, just few days ago Mythos f2p game anounced that it will close down in EU, and propably it won't even get released in NA (it was supposed to afaik).

F2P is not magical solution for everything.

I have to agree. I don't understand why some people think you can just wave the f2p wand around, and the game will instantly rise from the grave and make lots of money. I personally hate it when games go full f2p, it just shows they gave up on trying to fix the game, and are trying to one last stand as a so called "free" game. (No game is really free. So I really dislike the term)
