Wow. So the positive reviews are out there and documented. Where are all these negative reviews to counter the positive ones? I've seen like 3 tops, but no more than that. If there were a "rottentomatoes.com" for games, swtor would be at like 95% positive reviews so far.
Yes, the positive reviews WILL swamp the internet, we can all be sure of that.
The different opinions will arrive around 1-2 months after, when the launch hype has passed, or whenever EA stop spending millions on advertising.
There, fixed that for you.
Please don't 'fix' what dosen't need fixing Sov... your better then that
'trueful' is a neutral word that can mean good or bad, and the truth is it's usually a mix of the two.
Just like my view of SWtoR is.
Your post seems to imply that after launch it will not be positive feedback coming in, and that EA is paying for the positive views they've received thus far.

'seems to imply' is very vague and is really only the interpretation you chose to put on it.
The term is neutral.
I expect most people's honest opinions 1-2 months out of launch will be a very mixed bag of both the good and bad, as mine are now.
Anyone who wants to stand in an extreme corner insisting that this is the utopian model of a perfect game will be supported 100% in all mainstream reviews of this game before and at launch. Thats a given. EA will insure that. We will see actual honest reviews start to arrive afterwards when the advertising revenue starts to dry up and when smaller sites and bloggers have had real experience with it.
Okay this is list of just positive previews as was requested by Corehaven.
Disclaimer: This is only positive previews, i'm full aware this is one sided as it's meant to only show people who think positively of the game. Thanks.
I'm going to start off with major sites like IGN and such, basically anyone who has an established hold on the internet. Then i'm going to go to fansites like ask a jedi, keep in mind these are likely to be somewhat biased towards the game, as such they are in their own section. Then i'll jump down to minor sites like that joe one, Then i'll jump down to player previews from conventions.
Note: Once i finish populating this thread, i'll remove these three notes and leave just the previews in.
Alos note I will post approx how long a player got to play the game wether it's 10 mins, 2 hours 45 mins or a month if they mention it.
Gonna continue to add more but thats what i found in a short period of time. Feel free to discuss below.
This took the guy some time so you people should give him props. Whether you agree with liking Swtor or not, this was needed and he did it for the community. Thanks man.

Good job with this. For all those wanting to read something negative about SW:TOR, the forums here at MMORPG.COM are also a one stop shop. Just flip through just about any page here and I'm sure you will find your doom and gloom. Pretty much until this thread, anyone wanting to find something positive about SW:TOR would be lucky to find it on these forums.
I wonder what next MMO will be fashionable to hate? I bet the guys at Blizzard are welcoming BIoware to the club.

A gaming website has very little reason to post negative reviews of games, especially if they want to continue to have ad's, interviews, and new news related content, beta keys and more. Especially when it's a big game company it would take a lot to make a negative review, and then if they did post the obvious flaws in the games they would be sure to add "But it isn't game breaking".
So until you play it for yourself try to read between the lines.

/agree. They gladly write a positive review for more revenue for their business. Its a AAA game afterall, big seller! On day 1 at least

I am not so sure about this. To me it depends on the outlet. A lesser known outlet that has no ties to any big company has been proven time and time again to recieve more hits when posting something negative that provides that sort of shock value to show themselves differently then the majority who like something. I forgot which link was here several months ago that was posted here from some obscure European site that received a ton of attention on the official forums as well just because of its ridiculous rants.

I can't agree with this, as an example look at the bit tech article linked on this very forum. A quote of note from that "preview" "the most boring thing we've had to endure", yet there's a TOR add plastered right on the same page (well there was last time I looked).
For every minute you are angry , you lose 60 seconds of happiness."-Emerson
thanks for taking the time, as I don't have the time to browse much lol, anyway, we don't need much about negative reviews, if the game sux, people will come back here after release and beat the dead horse for eternity
Just some earlier info that fits the topic at hand from the Fan/Media Summit's so people can see what fans, and media both had to say about their experiences.
I have had my criticisms of The Old Republic in the past, but BioWare has set up what I perceive to be one of the most well conceived and rewarding PvP systems regardless of how you want to play your character. I'm seriously looking forward to playing the next PvP game-type, the Voidstar -IGN
Thanks alot for taking the time to create this thread Whilan.
Good stuff.
30+ links in this thread alone showing positive impressions and still waiting for links from most of the posters claiming negative's in the hate threads. Case closed.

I have a feeling we'll be waiting a long time for that. The haters are still flogging that one negative preview that was written off of a small 10 minute play session while dismissing all positive ones as being bought by EA. It's quite a funny bit of logic.
I know SWTOR will be great game and much better than AOC
-- but many reviewers rate a mmo too early
Good post. I agree with you. This game will probably get more good than bad reviews, but I think its going to get a couple of huge dings from those who ignore what the game has promised and instead rate it based on their own misguided illusions of what they wanted it to be. I could see most reviews between 7.5-10. but then a few 2 or 3s from those out to get attention that pull down the average. Same thing happened with Witcher 2. Most loved it, but then you see a few 4s and 5s weighing it down a little. I'll be more interested in how many subs after 3-6 months.

When it comes to AOC, all the cool fulll voice crap that everyone like stoped at about level 20 and from 1-20 AOC was actually pretty damn fun.
TOR from what I have played is much much much more polished then any pre launch MMO I have ever played.
