a tip for new players

cosycosy Member UncommonPosts: 3,228

the tips is based on this feature that AC put in the game http://www.perpetuum-online.com/Help:Account_reset

what you need:

  • patience

  • a friend

here is the deal for the first 44 days of your time in game you mine and make money like mad whit a mining/production character in the day 44 you trade all your money and items to a friend and make the account reset to full combat character

the result is you have a combat character whit more that 80k EP to spend on "day one" whit money and items

check perpetuum planer to see what Ep you can get whit 80k EP http://www.perpetuum-planner.com/

Right because mining/production is the best way to make money in perpetuum  for new players...I mean never mind that the preorder crowd has 4 weeks head start on players starting at launch and the market is saturated with bots and such you will also need to grind faction to be economically competitive in refining/production etc just to throw all that down the drain on day 44? You must be a troll. pathetic one at that.

What i don't understand is what you just wrote. you telling ppl to mine/harvest/produce? How do you even do that without faction bonus affecting every step of the process? So they supposed to produce goods(bots etc) and be able to compete with early start crowd with very high efficiency due to more EP/high faction ranking? Are they supposed to eat kernels to research items to produce or just buy stuff and reverse engineer it then mass produce? Because if early start character makes item costing 500k nic they will sell it for 1m nic but character with no faction will pay maybe 700k to produce it. Now where is the profit in that.

Maybe you mean to say a combat character is supposed to mine for few weeks? Do you even have any idea why peiople make combat characters? I have a friend who's on his 10 th day he has 27m in the bank and still in his light bot killing 4th-5th ranks for kernels and t2-t4 rare drops. Sure he loses some bots but insurance takes care of that. If i told him to mine for 44 days then go combat he would think i am trolling him. which is basuically what  you are doing

Just another evidence how stupid respecs are...

The real tip is that you can be a little risky on your first character. Try out a couple of things, then respec and pick the one you want to specialize in.

A problem the game had is that many people did this, and in PO that locks the EP in forever.  The respec gets around that.

Quite possibly the worst suggestion ive seen.

Account reset sucks ass, you lose your research, you lose your relation with various NPC corps, its a pain to transfer your items, less you lose them.

Best suggestion is to avoid the whole mess, Dont spend a single EP point no matter how cheap or tempting it is.  Go as long as you can like this.  A few days and you may realize what you really want to do.  Then will be able to just make a new character with the appropriate  schools and starting extensions, and attributes.

You will in no way "make money like mad" by mining in your arkhe or mk2 for 44 days.   It cost NIC to install a lot of extension skills, and youll have to do it twice using your method.  It could be upward of 1M NIC just to install all those extension skills, if your more balanced at least.  THats a huge hit for a new player.

Best way to make money, simply put, is to get a sequer and put skill into taking out like 8 missions.  Then run transport missions till your eyes bleed.  That  or seriously look into in-game insurance fraud.
