Splitting The Mr and Ms Galaxy for the sake of Bloodfin.

As I mentioned in this months Rodo report , instead of awarding the title to the clear winners, The titls was speard to the runner-ups as well.
Was the reason that the two Ms Galaxy were from Boodfin , which is dire need of some positive publicity in like of low populations and players complaiming that the server should have free tranfers then close?

It was because there was rampant cheating by the two "winners" due to the way SOE ran the poll. All you needed was a Free Realms (free) account and email to vote. Foolishly, SOE never verified or limited email addresses so I could have signed up for Free Realms as TUX001-TUX999 using the SAME email address. Rather than acknowledge their stupid mistake, they let the two cheaters split the win.
Which once again, goes to show how little SOE cares about SWG or it's player-base.
I have to agree , anyone could have voted for this sham of a contest which should have been ran on the SWG and EQ2 forums but instead was run on "the Station" forum. In fact , I would not be suprise if SOE stuffed the Boxes for the Bloodfin broads.

EXACTLY! Doing on a controlled forum was the only way to do it...instead, like normal, they didn't bother to think it through.
why would you think something through when you can just take your customers for idiots and upset them with poorly implemented events?
surely their over-qualified community team has more things to do than plan and organise these events properly...
oh wait....

No doubt. You gotta wonder about the professionalism at SoE given the debacles they continue to have. Geezus, Draakull cant put together a Friday Feature that doesn't involve copy/paste of some archaic update notes and Virrago doesn't role in until 1pm. He stays up late modding I'm sure, but the things he says to Mods (in PMs) is far from professional.
But...judging from their upcoming Clone Wars MMO and newly released DCUO trailer (sneak peak), professionalism takes a back seat to quick and easy.
It's really just too bad that this game is under their control when so many other companies would love to have the SW IP.
Poorly run Community Events has become SOEs Trademark. Their Ustream videos are the hieght of the annoying and unusual. The Smoke and Mirror stupidity would prevent anyone from taking them seriously.
Then it is not beyond SOE in splitting the prizes from this poorly run contest to begin with another Epic Fail of a server.
