I need to be able to play age of conan without constantly hitting single digit FPS numbers.
I know I have to replace my mobo/cpu/video card.
I'm assuming memory too since I doubt my current memory will fit in a newer mobo.
This is what I have in it now memory wise...
Device Description
DIMM1: Corsair CMX512-3700
DIMM2: 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM
DIMM3: Corsair CMX512-3700
DIMM4: 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM
Current mobo is MSI K8N Neo4 Series (MS-7125)
I'm running a AMD 64 3200+(939 socket) cpu and a nividia 6800 right now.
I don't want top of the line stuff, but just stuff up to par that will be able to play most games pretty well.
Suggestions? Thanks. Budget around 500.
Also, I have a 350watt antec PS...would I need to get more wattage if I upgraded?
ETA: I prefer AMD and nvidia

Hmm $500 budget, you want to play Age of Conan and you don't need the absolute best graphics. How about this?
$204.99 AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
$119.99 GSkill ECO Series 4GB (2x2GB)
$64.99 Antec EarthWatts EA-500D Green 500Watt PSU
$129.99 MSI 890GXM AMD 890GX Motherboard
$519.96 Subtotal
Or you can get this lovely combo for $380 that includes all the basic parts you are looking for. Then add in a mid-range gaming card and you are set.
The thing about what you want is its relatively easy to supply. Its when you want the game to look nice that its difficult. All you need to run AoC at playable framerates is a modern IGP. With $500 you have room to get the best parts in other areas like the processor.
Yes you need to replace everything there including graphics as a 6800 is very dated, so it is tricky for $500. The best budget fast graphics card right now is the ATI HD5770, which comes in at around $160. You can get a GTS 250 for a similar price but it is not as good, a GTX 260 at £200 would be better if you are determined to go Nvidia.
You can get a decent 500W PSU for $75, anything around that area is good.
You can get a Gigabyte DDR3 motherboard for $80.
4GB DDR3 memory ($100), any will do really. You could even go DDR2 if you find a cheap board and memory.
A dual core is the sweet spot at the moment, andf you can always upgrade the core later. So I would say a Phenom II ($83) would be better, as people do not seem to get alot of improvement with multi cores in AOC, so a faster dual core will often see better results.
This comes to $336, so if you can stretch another $200 go for a GTX260. That will see you run AOC in DX10 on medium settings with a decent FPS. Of course I am assuming you do not run at over 1600x1200 resolution.

This comes out around 600...any flaws?
i suggest this one instead!if you can find the 260 instead of 255 the better
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103844 dont rely on number this proc is a beast!
but it is a dual core its not a broken quad with 2 core disabled (i should have baught that instead! of my 550!
didnt think they would be so good!if you didnt notice the second level cache on both proc is 1 mb each instead of .512 mb on the quad!555
I have that proc (555), 4gb DDR3 ram and a ATI 4850, I get 40-50 fps on high settings everywhere I go, I don't PvP so can't confirm the fps during PvP though. I was able to unlock the other 2 cores on the cpu with a ASUS board w/ ACC. I looks like people are having good luck with unlocking the other cores lately but it is a crap shot. I personally like the Phenom over the Athlon II but check tomshardware.com and compare the benchmarks. They also run monthly articles such as Best Gaming Cpu for the Money and Best Gaming Gpu for the Money. Those articles are great starting points for upgrades and new builds. Good Luck!
I think I'm gonna get these for a little over a grand...

looks likea good build, if you want to save a few bucks you can pick up 2x 4850 cards @ $200 total. that would save you $100 for a notch better performance (no DX11 for whatever it is worth) assuming the GX boards to xfire that is.
the 955 is a great mid ranged cpu. got mine runnning at a stable, cool and happy 4.0 gigs with a zelman coper cooler.
the problem with this is that AoC hates crossfire and SLI. Typical problems include strobing shadows and oddly, a loss of frame-rate.
AoC seems to really like one good graphics card over two, and definately shows a preference toward Nvidia in general.
