What class will you play as, and why?

My option was not on the poll:

    All classes.

Because each class has a different story to experience.

THEN if I really liked a class/story, I might even reroll another character of that class and play through the story with a different ALIGNMENT.

BioWare has said that there is a 'Grey', as well as the Light/Dark alignment options.  Sounds like each class story has 3 possible ways of playing out due to your 'alignment' choices during the game... same ending or not? Who knows... but then you've also got 8 classes with different storylines, not to mention the Class Specializations.  Not sure how many there will be, but we already know that there are at LEAST 2 per class.

Again, no idea if it has major implications on how your story plays out, but you could pretty much have a total of 8 x 3 x 2 = 48 different ways of experiencing TOR!

I doubt your choices will matter THAT much, but I think you get my point :) I'll have to play every class at least once just for the basic story arcs.

I'm going to end up playing 1 of each but my first and probably my main will definitely be a Smuggler.  Unless my friends go all Sith on me then I'll be a Bounty Hunter.

I wont be jedi, thats for sure. Most appealing for me are bounty hunter and smuggler atm, but this could change after i get more info

I'm definitely going to play the bounty hunter as my main just as I did in SWG. I will play a trooper as well, they just remind me to much of a commando. I need to keep more up to date on TOR. I guess when a launch date is confirmed next year I will start giving more of a sheet.

Sith Inquisitor or Jedi Consular. I know one thing for sure I will not have any alts in this game. I am going to try and stick to one main character and no alts at all. This will be hard for me because I am an alt-aholic but in all mmos I find myself getting bogged down trying to catch all my alts up to my mains and then finally getting frustrated and quitting. Wish me luck!

oh man, I really don't know. I would like to say Jedi, but it seems that if the majority are Jedi ,,,,, So I will probably roll a ton of alts at launch (unless I end up in beta and can test there and then) and decide on the way.

It's weird that I like to pick the obscure choices that don't exist in MMORPGs... for STO I was hoping for an Orion Syndicate faction so that I can play as a smuggler/slave trader... howerver Cryptic made it very flimsy in depth of choices.  To that end, I hope the smuggler will prove and exciting class to play in STOR.  However it would have been nice to play as a Jawas robo trader or something.

most likely smuggler  i usually pick ranged so it was between smugger and sniper though i prefer rifles to  pistol  i just like smugglers  better i a way they are neutral  to both sides of the "force"

I have always tanked as a main character. So something with a saber, and I always heal on my alt. So far for main its Sith Warrior or Jedi Knight ;]

I like what I know of the trooper, so I will definitely try one but as my main I will probably go Sith inquisiter. Of course that might change with actual playtime under my belt. In other games I have tried all kinds of classes, but usual at first blush of a new game I am drawn to casters. The inquisiter sounds to me like a caster/healer hybrid, so it should give me the best of two worlds in that healers are always needed and the dps of a mage-like caster never hurts.

The trooper though... now i can see this being serious fun for me (not the enemy lol) If I am not out of date, the trooper is essentially a heavy weapons specialist with sniping added on. Always loved snipers heheheh.

Seems to me there more of a heavy weapons devastator role. Hopefully they allow you to either go for the accurate, one target dps sniper, or debuffer, would be interesting as a combo. Or, heavy weapons, support, hits many targets but for less damage. I'm really looking forward to how it plays.

    1st Class: Imperial Agent.

Reason: Seem to be the most challenging. I want to master this class beyond normal standards. Mind you, my normal standards are supernatural. lol whatever me. Plus, this is the class that I had been calling out for the Sith Empire wayy before they released the class.

    2nd Class: Smuggler.

Reason: Seem to be the 2nd most challenging. Plus, I've always wanted to be a smuggler in the games. I'll begin playing this class immediately after completing the IA's storyline. And you can heal with him? Yay for multi-tasking!

    3rd Class: Sith Warrior.

Reason: I! AM! SPARATACUS!!! That's what his name will be. It is(n't) copywritten, so don't touch it! lol at you for thinking I was serious.

    4th Class: Bounty Hunter.

Reason: I will wait a while before jumping on this band wagon, because I want to have any and all content for this class reliable and at-the-ready. If all goes well, and bounties are admitted, I will play this class to fruition. Otherwise, it will merely be a PVP dog.

    5th Class: Trooper.

Reason: Meh, by this time I'm running out of options, and my other characters are all leveled up and long been played. This is merely a scapegoat from the drudges of monotony. Not to mention, everyone needs a tank...

    6th Class: Jedi Knight.

Reason: Boredom further ensues as I have now leveled up almost all other classes. I project that I won't begin playing this class until the 2nd year of TOR.

    7th Class: Inquisitor.

Reason: Life is fading from me. And rather quickly. I haven't seen the sun in over 2 years. My complexion is ghostly, and I'm not sure these glasses are actually mine. In fact, I think they belong to my grandfather, seeing as I don't wear glasses to begin with.

8th Class: Yeah. That one. Bleh.

Reason: Why not? Every other class storyline is finito.

DISCLAIMER: I'm a nerd. You should not attempt to play as much as me if you value your life. I'm a walking fantasy, thus I live in one to escape my own mystical reality.

    Trooper first.

    Bounty Hunter second.

Possibly a Sith of some sort later.

I dunno, I grew up in an age where only three people carried sabres and one of them was dead. An era filled with smugglers, soldiers, bounty hunters and starships. I like the jedi/Sith bits and lightsabres and the Force in general, but I'm a grown up now and kindof over it.

Ah, nostalgia. Remember when Darth Vader was the baddest villain in the galaxy?

    omg!

i JUST GOTA CHIME IN THATS FUNNY AS HEK.  As long as Jedi is not a starting option I'll but it. If not Ill look to see if they make a padawan class that can learn to master the force. The point being starting as a Jedi sucks ass and makes Jedi like a truck stop hooker. period.

    1)  Sith Inquisitor:  Why?  Just intrigued by its ranged attacks (as seen in preliminary information) and 'healing' aspects.

    2)  Bounty Hunter:  Why?  Because I'm interested in the storyline this class might have to offer even though Boba Fett's influence in the genre appears hundreds of years later.

I figure on playing a Jedi Consular, mostly because I prefer support classes in MMOs. Not fast paced enough action usually for my brain to engage enough to make fighting classes interesting. Save that for shooters.

My best option would be to combine support role with combat, so maybe smuggler depending how they play as sneaks.

Haven't even considered who I'd play on Sith side. Pretty sure there will be enough chaotic nutters all ready on that side that they won't miss me.

i prefer playing support classes so I'll probably wind up playing a consular, but both smuggler and bounty hunter have their appeal... I'm sure I'll give a few classes a try before settling on a main

Same. I die when I play a nuke cause I always end up running in when I'm not supposed to. I'll play the tankiest tank class they have, and roll a healer as an alt.

One reason I didn't like WAR. The best tank on the good side was a dwarf, and I dont' like playing short characters.
