Keeps - Forts - Cities ?

Trying to clarify a question regarding the Keep system.

First off does anyone know if theres Forts in the game that you have to take post taking keeps?

And if so, how many keeps would you need to take to move forward onto the Forts?

PureChaos clarified a question I had but Im wondering about the keeps and forts and if the fort exists.

Just to double check, does anyone know if theres guard NPC's at each keep like in DAoC where they had guards an stuff as well as a commander type boss you had to kill to take over the keep?

    ok, yeah forts exist, just for w/e reason wasnt sure, its the last thing to stand infront before the city.
