Please, Do Not Make My Next President McCain Or Obama !!!

I do not mean this topic to be a trolling post.  I swear I don't.

I am honestly confused and scared of the two candidates that we have for President.  How did it get to this point?  I'm serious, I do not understand how it got to the point where our two choices are Obama and McCain!!!

Have we all collectively gone insane?  Just look at them both.  They promise no hope for this country in any way.  I thought that the Kerry vs Bush election was bad, but this has it whooped by a long shot!

Am I the only one who feels we've stepped into a creepy parallel universe that runs on insanity?

I am really scared at what is going to happen.

Can someone explain how we have gotten to this moment?  If you think I started this topic as a troll post, then you take a stab at explaining it and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I feel the same way towards Obama. Im scared as hell for the sheer fact that many Americans want to vote a man in office who's childhood mentor was a self proclaimed communist with his own group in Hawaii and a man who stated he wished he never had white blood in his veins and he wished to purged that from himself. Its scarey how desperate some Americans can get.

Democrates has this weakness of falling in love on the first date.  They take someone and fall heads over heals and then realize they voted in a guy who is so left winged he wont win. If you want to be the President of the United States you want to be a moderate.

Only reason why Bush won both times was because the people he ran against were complete morons. Sorry...but Gore is probably the democratic inteliigent equilivent of Dan Quayle.  And Kerry....heh...I wont get started with that guy.

Now....if Bush ran against a moderate Democrate he would have lost; Im sure of it.  But Democrates are like those skinny guys in earth tone cordoroy pants who hang out in Starbucks with laptops because its the "cool" thing to do.  If Democrates want to see a Democratic President again, they need to loose their new fad and get a moderate.  They'll never win if they keep on picking looney guys all the way in left field.

But I do agree with you. Obama and McCain lol..damn...what happened.

Just do what Im going to do. Vote for the Cobra Commander!

Also....about your thread topic...I dont think Bush can run again...unless you are referring to Obama as Bush lol

this is what made Clinton so damn hard to beat..southern Dem and he ran as a moderate.the south has a-far greater influence on American politics than most care to admit.this would explain why he won the first election but it doesn't  fall into character for the 2nd election would U agree.2nd election was more of a 'protectionism' of Clinton because of the way the Republicans went after HIM.

I voted for Kerry because I agreed with most of his positions and respected him and his history. I am voting for Obama because I agree with him on most of his positions, I respect him, and because I am very excited about a potential Obama Administration.

One thing I see quite often from both sides, but more often from the right, are mischaracterizations, mis-quotes, or just plain lies about a candidate or politician. Someone out there states something they absolutely know is false, but also know has just a bit of truth to it to sound plausible. This is picked up by someone else who passes it on to someone else who then spreads it to the masses. For example: I absolutely knew that Obama never "stated he wished he never had white blood in his veins and he wished to purged that from himself." So I did a little research and found reference to this(a bit of truth) here: www.salon.com/books/feature/2008/07/07/obama_books/

Below is a paragraph from the Blog Essay with Barack's writings in Blue and Malcolm X's "Writings" in Red.

According to "Dreams From My Father," among the characters in African-American literature, the adolescent Obama felt closest to Malcolm X, whose discipline and "repeated acts of self-creation" impressed him. Yet, when Malcolm wrote of the desire to "expunge" the white blood in his veins, Obama "was left to wonder what else I would be severing if and when I left my mother and my grandparents on some uncharted border."

It turns out that this mis-quote was not only attributed to the wrong person, but that Obama rejected this notion in his writings. It was something that Obama saw as a difference between himself and Malcolm X.

Someone out there spins these lies knowing that the damage will be done whether they be true or not. I know a lady who calls herself a Democrat but voted for Bush in 04 because she saw the picture of Kerry and Jane Fonda siting next to each other at a Anti-Vietnam War Rally. The picture was quickly revealed to be a fake, but the damage was already done. The puppets danced. The puppet master patted himself/herself on the back for a job well done. Personally I don't like being duped myself, I don't care if I heard the lie from the original source or it was passed down.

I'm going to PM this post to you in four years when Obama is busy running this country into the ground and taking away your civil liberties like you would have never even dreamed...and not the civil liberties that were robbed by the Patriot act, because we have all been strip searched and phone bugged right?

How can anyone be this excited about a closet socialist?  How can any American who values our way of life think that Obama would be good for this country?  Your vague and generic "I'm excited about a possible Obama administration" crap does not suffice here..

To be clear, I'm not excited about McCain, but I'll be damned if he's not a MUCH better choice than Obama...Yeah yeah, Yoda's left testicle and all of that other crap, I don't care how old the man is, I'll take a senile 112 year old for president who thinks that 4+4=chair  over someone like Obama.

I think the reason it seems bad isn't because of the candidates but the horrible state our media and campaigning is in.  The media isn't looking at character, experience, and disposition of a candidate; but rather any sort of thing they can spin for shock factor even if it isn't true.

I'm voting for McCain for several reasons, but 1 big reason is he is a moderate whos views in the past have matched up with mine excluding this campaigning year.  Also he has been serving this country for 4 decades.  Something I like in a president is that he appears to be serving the people rather then the opposite way around.  BTW, the president isn't a position that puts you to a point where your life is better then any other.  Its good to remember there is a long list of people who replace a president if they die.

There's plenty of blame for the people who maliciously spread this garbage, but don't forget about the simpletons who are sitting there waiting for it to be served.

Bush voters, I'm talking to you.

Fortunately, many of those people from '00 and '04 now acknowledge that it was all bullshit. It sucks for America that they are living 6 years behind the curve. Anyhow, Obama is far too savvy to let himself get swiftboated by McCain in the MSM, which is what ruined Kerry's chances. Disagree with Obama's policies if you like, but McCain has no chance at winning the game of campaign chess.

What`s wrong? can`t handle the fact that not everyone agree with you? A whole lot of people don`t see it the way you do, are they all wrong and you are right?. It really  eats you up inside to think that Obama will have a very real chance of getting into the white house unless mccain and his friend organize terrorist attack which people in his camp have already said would help his run for the white house .

You PM him in 4 Years.

Read Obama's auto biography and look who his childhood mentor was.  The guy was an official card carrying communist.

    Sorry...I dont vote for that.

Obama will not win. He is too far left to even win. I guarantee you he will loose. Watch. If the democrate party nominated Hillary I guarantee you she would have won.  People on extreme sides will never win unless against a total idiot.  McCain is a moderate. Obama is in trouble.

The signs are already pointing to failure for Obama.  The polls are increasingly swinging in McCain's Favor.  More and more people are seeing that Obama is not the bipartisan moderate that he tried to claim that he was.  More and more people are realizing that maybe a freshman senator with no real experience isn't the best choice to run our country.

Obama's core doesn't even match with the historic democratic core.  Older women (who vote in huge numbers) have always been Democrat by double digit percentages, but they have moved into McCain's camp by about 4-6% that is around a 20% swing from prior elections.

Obama is polling fairly poorly with white lower to mid middle class families which is another predominately democratic core.  He isn't polling as well as prior Dems with Hispanics which is another core Dem group.

Obama has gotten a HUGE following with the under 30 crowd but unfortunately for him that crowd just doesn't turn out to vote.  Remember in prior years when Rock the Vote pumped people up for voting.  There were tons of new voters who turned out of the events and were psyched up, but come November they disappeared.

If the Dems had nominated Hillary they would win.  If the Dems had nominated a more moderate candidate like Bloomberg it would of been a landslide.

Face the facts.  America does not like Bush, they do not like the Republican party, they don't want more of Bush.  Yet even though the Dems are doing a good job of painting McCain as more of the same it just isn't working.  With everything that has happened in the past 8 years this election should of been a landslide.  Obama should be up in the polls by 30%+ easily but yet he is statisically tied.  Why?

Because Obama is an extremist.  He is way to far left for the average democrat/independent much less the average American.

Also, it doesn't help that a Democratic controlled Congress is polling lower then the President in approval ratings.  How do you get elected into majority power over a party that America was fed up with and then poll lower in approval.  I think the last number I saw was 9%.

Personally I wish Ron Paul was going to get elected (that is where my Primary Vote went.   I was one of around 80,000 Floridians to vote for him).  If America honestly wanted real change they would of voted for the only Presidential candidate with a consistent record of moderation and personal freedoms.

HAHA this is thread is so funny. Some how Obama is going to run this country into the ground, HA we are already digging due to your Votes for Bush. It's a known fact that mainly democrats fix the economy while republicans F - it up. Questions for ya.

And what liberties are you going to lose if Obama becomes President?

What is McCain going to do to help this country when he is for the Iraq war where we WASTE BILLIONS on fighting a UNWINABLE WAR? (if those guys wanted peace over there Jews and the Palestines would be eating lunch together. Thats there homeland and they dont wanna share it with no body and we waste perfectly good men and women over there fighting a pointless unwinable war with the way politics and the world views are today. Because trust me to put it blunt the only way to win is to kill them all. FYI i dont want that i want us out of there land because we wouldnt want no one here in the U.S.)

Demo's and Repo's are the same no matter what its just in the end do you wanna waste money in iraq or do u wanna waste it here or somewhere else because demos wanna save the world too unfortuntly when we as a nation need the saving.

What history book do you read?  Democrats fix the economy?  Ha that is the most absurd thing I have ever heard.  Our Economy and our Government is going bankrupt because of Entitlements.  We can't afford Social Security, Medicare, etc.  These entitlements are hurting us alot.  What does obama want to do?  He wants to make them larger.
And what liberties are you going to lose if Obama becomes President?
Hmm freedom of choice in Medical Care, Freedom to make Profit, 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.  That is just a few of the freedoms that I can think of off the top of my head.

The Middle East has been in turmoil since the beginning of time.....We arent going to change Iraq or the way the people in the Middel East live their lives......There will always be constant conflict and tension there regardless of what we do.....For us to spend Billions of dollars in that war while our own country goes down the drain is just ridiculous......

Can you tell us what Obama's positions are?

The positions I see him firm on are

    Pro-abortion.

    Collectivism.

    raising taxes.

If you think Obama is going to cool,/lower the oceans, and heal the world, you are going to very dissapointed.  Since his speech, Germans have said they are not going to put  their troops into Afganistan to give US tax breaks. So much for bringing us all together.

Lol American democracy left this election when Republicans began voting for Obama over Hilary just so that the worst candidate would win.

You can look up http://zfacts.com/p/318.html The Economy was going down till good ole regan/bush administration came into the picture. Then Clinton was bringing it down yet again then good ole Bush JR messing thing up again.

Hmm Medical Care, well one the medical system here is F'd up anyways. Profit well yeah lets let the Oil Companies Charge $4.00 US/Gallon and make a 12Billion Dollar 2nd Quarterly Profit because yeah they should charge us more. You know the wealthy are wealthy because they will always be that way if they can just charge you whatever they want and get away with it. Thats why the economy is Shit right now and putting your Home Boy McCain will keep it that way and the United States will end up like the Soviet Union. And for guns yeah right any gun law that would come through congress would get dismissed and never get passed regardless.

If you think we won your just as brain dead as the rest of the nation. We didn't win crap we because you tell me what we won in Iraq other then a damn HeadAche and a bunch of Soldiers that died for nothing. WHERE ARE THE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!!??

First off the best presidental canidates don't get elected. Its all a popularty contest between the both parties and the ones that could actually make a differance get booted out. Its a known fact who ever can raise the most money and or have the most money win. This is a billion dollar campaign this year. http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/index.php In almost any case the one with the most money wins its sad but true.

You're right, I fixed the title.  I guess in my fit of grief I misfired on a synapse somewhere.

    Ditto to that sir.

This is a great time, I'm very excited, it's Yoda's left nut versus Obama, this is just too good to be true. Very exciting times, we're finally going to exit the dark-ages after eight freaking bull-shite infested years.

    WOOT!!!

How are we exiting the dark ages by electing a person who wants to increase government ?
