I have read something in a prior post about looking at Bria Population, and they post screenies of a cantina in Theed to show how it is populated. sadly i do not have a picture of a cantina in theed when Pre-Cu was live.
but... (like i said before i kept some of my screenies)
i found a picture of the me in the middle of a desert in Lok (bria) on a week night
i am sorry but this picture has only a few people on it, and in no way compares to what theed was
i would say theed had at least 2-3 x more people than these screenies

This is just to say :
for the VETS in here, Happy moments we had, please don't cry but we have to show to those who have never seen what a the true galactic civil war was
EDIT: forgot to mention that this is only the north side of the base cluster where my guild was suppose to launch the primary attack, the second wave came 10 minutes later from the south. FOR THE EMPIRE

Couple more folks and would of looked similar to saturday night PVP.
Gosh i love telling them rebels where to go, FOR THE EMPIRE.

only time you see those numbers now would probably be restuss or some crap like that.
I recently had a venture back on euro chimeara and omfg the place was desolate and that was with a medium load the 2nd most popular server behind Bria.
Game is dead and i think all the fanboi's posting here recently is because even they are begining to realise it, I have heard the community has at minimum reduced again by a 3rd due to the block fix after people had spent millions and millions on block statted gear
I have only tried restuss once and it kinda lagged my computer (damn rebels), so i tend to stick to tatooine for my PVP, although i do try restuss when they're arn't so many people there.

On Ahazi before the NGE, Lok was also a great place for some Backwoods Bushwhackin'
Corellia, Tatooine, and Naboo naturally got all the attention and glory.
Ahazi for practically the entire time before I left due to the NGE was dominated by the Rebels. They simply did not let up. Corellia was 99% theirs. Naboo 75% theirs. Tatooine was 50% theirs from all the bases that I saw around all these planets' countrysides.
Lok however was 75% Imperial. It helped that it was a backwoods planet but it did garner good amount of attention by Rebel players. We used to have lots of bases NE of the Imperial base POI.
I used to love grinding FP in Lok, especially in that region. It was common for me to stumble upon a base raid by the Rebels when I arrive to do faction terminal missions. As a Stormtrooper clad Imperial, I am obligated to help! Sometimes I'd arrive with the responsible Imperial Guild having mustered its members against an expected Rebel attack on the bases. I'd ask to join and welcome the Rebels.
Good times, good times. Ahazi back then was easily one of the top 2 most populated servers in SWG. Now? Sad to see Ahazi a ghost town.
"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." (First Lieutenant Clifton B. Cates, US Marine Corps, Soissons, 19 July 1918)
i just posted those pictures there to show that currently bria is NOT populated, when current players post screenies of pictures of the theed cantina and claim that its full, i tell them, that that looks like a cantina on dantooine on a weeknight in pre-cu.
show me a screenie of any outpost in a remote planet (excluding mustafar kashyyk andrestuss) with more than 40 people and i will say its populated
btw i have more screenies that show activity. in bria
Wonderfull memories indeed and good times followed.
List of SOE lies
I used to have a screenshot from Bria, The "Battle of Battles", that made the server cry.
over 200imps vs 200rebs duked it out. (200v20 only AFTER the server crashed..many of the players showing up didn't manage to log in after the crash. My guild alone lost 6 people in the crash, and there were only 20 of us to begin with).
funny thing is that the servers now behave like that when theres a 10v10 battle... NGE, gotta love it.
If only I had the screenshots... You couldnt see the ground on the radar, only player dots filling it..
The last of the Trackers
edit: i think i have some screenies of that battle somewhere in one of my backup CDs
Hah, remember the little platoon of stormtroopers that showed up?
That was me
The last of the Trackers
you where late if i remember well
still that was fun, specially since then the rebels went into hiding and did not place a single base for 2-3 months afterwards
worst part is that imperials where outnumbered 5:1 ( i think it was that) maybe 3:1 in Bria. that was a time where an imperial could walk the streets of naboo overt without fearing assassination.
It is rather funny to hear people talk about the population boom and mention some place like Theed or Mos Eisley cantina.
What they don't know is what we know....and I just want to tell them all THIS:
Theed? Mos Eisley? That all?? Just those 2? Seriously?
Here is how it WAS...Not only Theed and Mos Eisley but Dantooine Mining Outpost, Coronet Cantina, Bestine Cantina, Dathomir Cantinas were PACKED!!! AND it was NOT HARD to find at least 1 or 2 in just about EVERY cantina across the planets, with at least a few people there listening/watching.
Oh...and your proof that the populations are booming again is showing a screeny of a cantina..again, Theed or Mos Eisley...
Again..here is how it was....ON TOP of what was already in the cantinas, in every major starport (coronet, theed, mining outpost, both dathomir posts, most ports on tatooine) there would be 3-10 doctors, each with lines of 15+ people. There would be mobs of people waiting for the starship...a good 15-30 every five minutes. Not to mention the afk spam bots hawking their wares...i don't even want to count them.
What you are calling a population "boom", you new swg players, we would call 4:30 in the morning and everyone else has gone to bed except for those hopped up on stackers or red bull, so it's time for me to go to bed as well.
Yup, rebels finally took over thanks to Chopersis(spelling?). greatest General of the rebels Ahazi ever had. Before him, the imps controled every planet but rori...completely controled em. I hate to say this, but as a whole rebels were some of the worst pvpers..at least on Ahazi. Regardless of our numbers Imps would own us. Chop changed all that and we took it back..we were going for lok next but the cooldown timer exploit killed ALL pvp on the entire server. Everyone was doing it. People were building their templates around it. God, it was so gay. As soon as they fixed it, after what 4 months?, pvp started right back up. Everything was finally coming together. People were coming back in droves. Then just like always, as soon as it started getting good again. SOE announced another change. The NGE.
See you in the dream..
The Fires from heaven, now as cold as ice. A rapid ascension tolls a heavy price.
Bria was, at one time, populated to the point where the server would regularly crash. It was bad enough that SOE ended up offering free transfers from Bria to another server in an attempt to lower the population enough to sabilize the server.
There used to be as many people playing on Bria as there probably is currently playing on all the servers combined.
That's still the case, except now it doesn't say much. I just finished a vet trial and I went to Bria to see what all the fuss was about (normally 'play' on Sunrunner).
I can tell you, that compared to other servers, Bria is the most playable (at least on peak time). When I created my toon the server load was 'heavy'. I logged in and was almost impressed by the numbers.
My /who was actually truncated in Mos Eisley. Naboo saw a regular 3 to 12 people on peak times (which is amazing compared to Sunrunner). There actually WAS a player in the rebel base on Rori (wow!!!).
Etc etc...
Sadly, the numbers were but a shadow of the amount of players I used to see on lowly Sunrunner during the Pre-CU days.
The truth is Bria still has more players than the other servers combined (just a guess, but believable), but considering there's only a tiny handful playing on the other servers, it's really quite sad.
I won't go into the fact that on Bria... EVERYONE seems to be an Imperial Jedi...
You're really judging a city no one hangs out in anymore as your population basis? There is nothing in theed for anyone. If there was a screenshot of restuss and it had a couple people then maybe it might be a different story. Restuss is what theed used to be.
Here's a couple shots of fond memories on Lowca, and I was in all these pictures:
This guild had over 200+ members.
Lok live event (Lost battle of Lok, August 2004)
I suppose I shouldn't have used Theed as an example... I was speaking to the vets, not the players.
I did go to every major starport (and many player cities) and sorry to say, the fact still stands that it's dead compared to Pre-CU. Don't even TRY to say otherwise.
And about Restuss... let me just touch again on the fact that EVERYONE on Bria seems to be an Imperial Jedi, which is most obviously apparent, in Restuss.
This one was an attempt (pre-CU) to destroy a VEA base in Mos Vea, Tatooine, during off-peak hours. NPCs were long since dead at this point, so blue = covert imperials, red = overt imperials, purple = rebels.

Pre-CU screenshots depress me. To think the game has fallen so far as it has... From infinite, to very limited finite. From the most fun I ever had to less fun than ripping my toenails out.
Damn you Smed...
No way in hell you will ever see that many people in one place on Bloodfin again. As a mater of fact there's more people in that picture and out of frame then are left on the entire server. Now 20 people playing king of the hill in Restuss is alot. Sad and lame, but as a NGE super-fan would say "the game is doing better than ever, there are more people playing than there was pre-cu and the game is much better."
There were at least two full groups of rebels there, 40+ of us (you can see a lot of people in that picture who weren't in my group, and I was talking to Mesk from Fight, who was holding the cloner if I recall correctly). We were the people who played during the daytime: the Europeans and the Americans who played odd times. The nightly battles at Valley of Death had at least double that number on each side.No way in hell you will ever see that many people in one place on Bloodfin again. I remember leading a small guild at the time (late Pre-CU era) having about 60 active members and every night having to turn away people from a 20 man group.
When I quit last August you couldn't get a full group of 8 except rarely... And that was on a "heavy" server.
why on earth would you do that?
no the CU reduced group size to 8
Oh my gosh! I saw some old friends in these screenshots! It made me happy to see them and then sad at what we have lost.
There were some awesome battles on Lowca server. There were more people on Lowca back then than there are on Bria today, easily.
So many fun times. So many great friendships, and a cool community.
