NCsoft has released this new, 19 question internal Q&A with Kyoung Won Choi, the Senior Game Designer on the upcoming MMO, Aion.
NCsoft:
How extensive will Aion character customization be?
Kyoung Won Choi:
In the game client, which was being showed at the Games Convention Leipzig '07, the player had the ability to choose between several different hairstyles, colours, shapes of their face, skin colours, character height and voice. It is also possible to alter eye colours and to add tattoos to the character face. A character build feature is currently being planned, which will affect the size of the character, ranging from skinny to big.

This interview has been out there for a while now ...
It could be okay, but doesn't sound like something I would enjoy. I haven't really followed the game much, but based on this interview, it seems like it's going to be a very restrictive game.
How does it sound restrictive? :O This interview has been out for a while but it's great to have it up here on the site!
It's possible he might be refering to the pvp which is segregated as opposed to a completely open pvp system. Not sure if this is what he means but it would make sense given what was said.

It all sounds fine but I'll wait to see the actual implementation.
Devs say they will limiting the boring grind in their game but whether they actually *understand* that is a completely different matter.
The game still sounds heavily guild-focused. If they really have ways for non-uber guild players to engage in PvP, then it might be worth checking out.
Actually the thing i wanted to see in this game was the effect of the element on their mob , and the weather. And now they drop the idea.
After they say something like " cannot remove grinding " like in WoW or other game they will put competence cooking stuff like that " i dont like that seriously, for me cook it press botom joint 3 item, and loose your time and not funny some peeps know what i mean " They need to keep us busy or we are going to be 50 in 1 week. So they add PVP and PVPVE... ( song like faction in guildwar lol )
And more they say their target its easy "asian" in first
Somebody say more " RESTICTIVE GAME " I hate those game who you loose your time in running, or taking a boat with a loading screen etc..
SERIOUSLY my idea on this easy: its song like " GUILDWAR " with stuff like cooking and blacksmith etc..
I saw some movie, and its like instance for principal quest. BUT I LOVE that so im gonna take a look for sure. I love went im feeling a story arround me and felling i do really something in the game !
Actually the game is only instanced for dungeons, and story sequences, other than that the instancing will be minimal
I'm excited to see how it ends up. This could be a great surprise in 08.
Old news :P
But since 90% of the people here havent even searched that deep it will be news to them lol
The great thing about this is once Aion is finished Work will begin on Lineage 3, and this same team will be devloping that. L III will probably have many of the casual elements that Aion has, and we will have Aion to tie us over until L III is released...lokking forward to this one.
I think Lineage 3 is made by a different team.
how is the time flying ? and the recharge time for fly again ?
One or two minutes of flight time, I think, three or four minutes of cooldown. There are items and skills that can extend the flight time by a couple seconds, fifteen or so per. Flight is for tactical combat and getting to special place, mostly. Not for travel. Of course, if you're in a hurry you could fly to where you needed to be and it'd be faster than walking there, but then you'd not be able to use flight in combat for a couple minutes. It's a very interesting game mechanic, to be sure.
