MMO Franchises you'd like to see

1. Fallout the MMORPG

I've always been a die-hard fan of the series, and considering it's leveling system is, in my opinion, damn near flawless, I don't think that basic character conception would be overly difficult. Plus, the setting and the backstory are wonderful. Some of the most dedicated fans on the planet too! I'd quit my dayjob for a Fallout MMO

2. Shadowrun

Cyber-punk/Street mercing and Mr. Johnson's. Though a lot of people might not be familiar with the series, it's been around for a long time, and with some work, it could turn into a wonderful MMO experience.

3. Syndicate

Not really an MMORPG, but it could be with some work. The idea of organized factional warfare hasn't really been taken to extreme levels thus far, save for DAoC and Anarchy Online. Crafting advancing with technological upgrades in an organization could also work in a manner similar to Eve.

If you agree/disagree, feel free to let me know.

Post your own dream MMO's to be produced, with a slight summary of why you feel it would do well.

I think franchises can sometimes be a games worst enemy because they are handcuffed into what they have to do.   Alot of games seem to not do to well with big name IP's like Star Wars and so on.   A good example may very well be how LoTRO is received.   They really have to follow the lore and are not allowed to drift to far off or Tolkien Enterprises won't allow it.   Some stuff that is fun in other games won't be allowed in this game and it may hurt the overall fun factor.

    I strongly agree!

That's why I chose to name 3 very open-ended game systems.

For example, Fallout has always been a game that encouraged exploration. The trade routes/caravan runs could lead to some seriously exciting PvP, as well as pre-set factions. With a vast world, player-run towns/guidl-established cities could be interesting. For example, New Reno in Fallout 2 was littered with Casino's. I think it'd be interesting to have organized crime syndicates amongst the player base.

Those are just some basic ideas in there, but I found them to be exciting in concept.

I can understand the desire for a Fallout one (it's my favorite game I've played) but for an mmo I'd nearly prefer something completely new in a similier setting, like Fallen Earth if it ever gets released. Maybe I'm being over sensative after SWG though.

    Oh yeah, Fallout.

I'd like a BattleTech Mechwarrior game just a little bit more though.

    -------------------------------------------

I know, i know, some of them are already released or in project. well, to me its as if they werent. i want real breathing persistant worlds, not single player games with multiplayer option. swg is closer to that, but

I know it sounds kinda kiddy, but I think a proper, sandbox, open ended MMO world based on Brian Jacques 'Redwall' series would be good. The Redwall books are kind of lame, to be honest, but the world is fantastic, the sprawling forests, the vast steppes and lots of other things.

No Userbar here, sorry to disappoint.

It's the reason I went nowhere near SWG to begin with. Mind you, from what I hear from around the 'Net is that the fault of the state of the game lies squarely with the decisions made by LucasArts.

Don't know what to make of that personally, as LucasArts have made some killer games and generally make exceptional games rather than shit or merely ordinary ones.

But, as I answered on another thread identical to this one: Blade Runner.

The only bad I know that LucasArts did with SWG was forcing its release when it obviously wasn't ready, hence everyone talking about how buggy and unfinished the game launch felt. This also happened to KotOR2, which is why the game had such a bad ending and even more bugs than the first KotOR

I was reading that they are shooting a new Indiana Jones movie.  That world may make for a good mmo.

Lots of treasures to find in different places in the world. many enemies including monsters, other groups like Nazi's, Mobsters, native peoples protecting their lands etc.  I think there could be enough variety to make it good.

The MMOs I'd like to see are:

1: Harry Potter Online! I think that would make a great MMO, you'd start at Hogwarts as a first year, then level up by completing all the classes for each grade. once out you could join the ministry, or the Dark Lord and fight the other side, while still training your magic.

2: Inharitance(Eragon/Eldest)! This would probly be alot like LotRO, which is like WoW, but what isn't lol. You'd start in what ever town your race comes from: Human would be Carvahall; Dwarf would be Farthendur; Elf would be Ellesmera. once you did this quest like thing you could become a dragon rider. And in that quest you could join Roran on his boat down the sea coast.

Both games I think would be wicked! Based on the books, mainly ment for Inharitance, and not on that "movie" they made where the only thing they got right was his name! But don't get me started on that.

The MMO theme yet to be seen is..

An environmental setting that is similar to TRON, Cholo, anything techno like and takes places in cyberspace or a virtual world.

I'd like to see Pokemon online! :)

Also not so much a franchise just a general question.

Why has no-one done a wild west online game yet?

hehe, really had great and wicked idea for an MMO, what about Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, wacky missions, and, hillarious antedotes, and, the variety of oddball galactic oddities to chat with.

I would like to see MMORPGs from the following:

    1) Robotech online (Macross, Southern Cross, New Generation, etc.)

    2) Naruto online (create and play characters that do level A-D missions and rise up through their ninja ranks)

    3) WWE online (create and customize wrestler characters, and fight against other players)

Fallout needs to be made and made right. I just started playing fallout 2 again for like the 5th time.

As far as I've heard they are going to make a Fallout Online. But, seeing as I just heard this news less than a month ago on Gamespot, expect it out sometime in the year 2183.
