Website: Lords of the Dead (www.lotd.org)

Recruitment: TBA

We'll officially open recruitment later, but you can post here, or register on our site and participate there until we open recruitment. This is mostly an informational post at the present time.

I have put up a notification post in the LotD Warhammer forum for people to let us know if they want to be notified when we do site news updates and begin accepting applications.

Brief History

LotD was founded in 1995 and has played multiple MMORPG's over the years. The guild is a mixture of hardcore and casual gamers who like to have fun, and due to our rigid recruitment process we only retain quality players. The guild has a good track record in PVP, and I invite you to read our guild history.  The last game in our guild history is Guild Wars .There we were top 5 through the BWE's, and were top 40 up to six months after retail release.

We have had success in every game, and we are currently playing WoW and City of Villains (CoV) while we wait for Warhammer. Recently LotD was one of 4 guilds nominated from the entire game population for the 2006 PVP guild of the year.

Recruitment Rundown

Lords of the Dead is a highly competitive guild that focuses on PvP. If you want to make friends with a bunch of great people, and if you are a good player that wants to be a part of a guild that uses advanced tactics and teamwork to excel at PvP, then Lords of the Dead is the right guild for you.

While Lords of the Dead is highly focused on PVP, we also accept members don't want to PVP a majority of their time. These members can contribute to the guild by leading quests, organizing events, helping out with leveling and character development, and participating in a host of other non PVP related activities.

We require that our members be fairly active. You can be away for vacation, etc. without anyone being upset with you but we are looking for people who, while not away for vacation or other events, play a total of 10 or more hours/week so that you can be an active part of our guild events. Attendance to all events is not required, but we usually schedule  PvP, PVE, or other events every week where having a good turnout is important.

Voice Chat

Lords of the Dead uses a program called Ventrillo to talk to one another while we play. Ventrillo is a free program that allows us to coordinate attacks and strategy as quickly as speaking. No more trying to type "STOP!" in half a second to save your group. Instead, you can just say it with one press of a button.

We are fairly selective as we are an elite, but not elitist.  We give most people a fair chance to prove that they belong in the guild, and that they can prove that they can contribute to the guild. Successful applicants will be dedicated, fun-loving, and willing to apply on our forums and to set up Ventrillo, etc.

FAQ

1.Why is LotD so special?

Because we've lasted 12 years in MMORPG's, spanned several games, and have had PVP success in each one. That success has translated into recruiting and retaining quality members over the years, and has helped LotD form good relations with several gaming companies and dev studios.

2. What sort of members are you looking for?

Mature acting members who are hardcore in their desire to bring pain to the enemy, who are team focused, who contribute to the guild, and don't get their panties in a wad too easily.

Carebears (people who can't be evil) need not apply.

3. What Faction is LotD going to be?

We need more info, but Chaos Humans are definate and then we'll allow other allowed races to join the guild.

4. How will LotD integrate its Lore into Warhammer?

That's why the guild leadership going Chaos Human. From a roleplay standpoint, the LotD leadership always takes human form while our "servants" or lesser lords may take other forms.

5. Will LotD ally with other guilds?

We may work with other friendly guilds from time to time, but we are not planning to join or lead any mega alliance.

6. How do I participate with LotD until Warhammer is released?

You can sign up to join our WoW or CoV gaming chapters if you want. We plan to keep both chapters going until Warhammer, and then roll the entire guild into the new game.  You can have a PVP ready character in CoV with about 40-50 hours of gameplay.

Otherwise you can register on our site, and keep an eye on our Warhammer forum.c.
