To early to give any meaningful comments yet to LotR's newest content - also known as Update 22.

The update itself went smoothly however and I thought the occasion should at least be bookmarked.

Mirkwood was already released, so did they add new towns/sections of the same map or did they add a whole new map for Mirkwood?

That was Mirkwood, and this is Wood of Greenleaves   it's a "new" Mirkwood, in a way, a year later than the Siege of Mirkwood.

As @gervaise1 said it's still too early for details, I haven't checked the update on Bullroarer and still patching the client, but if I should make a guess I'd say there will be new places, and some revisits of the old expansion's areas too, with the technique they used at the "different time" Isengard versions.

First Mirkwood was southern part with Dol Guldur, new Mirkwood are the Northern part with the wood elf kingdom.
