So they are trying it again with games that have had free mods from the start. They didn't learn anything from the last time? I can see the bigger modders jumping ship and heading for that. I don't blame them, but I don't see it faring well.

If you read the article, existing mods aren't allowed to be retro-fitted into Creation Club. Only original content is allowed.

"Most of the Creation Club content is created internally, some with external partners who have worked on our games, and some by external Creators. All the content is approved, curated, and taken through the full internal dev cycle; including localization, polishing, and testing."

Sounds like it could be worth checking out to me.

Sounds like bethesda has learnt from the paid mod debacle over skyrim.  They can't expect to receive %50 of the profit and not be expected to police ownership of mods and support the content in question.

With their previous attempt they tried to dump those responsibilities on the community.

Actually, other than player/community created mods, this part is of interest:

"Creation Club is a collection of all-new content for both Fallout 4 and Skyrim. It features new items, abilities, and gameplay created by Bethesda Games Studios"
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

Try the "Special Edition." 'Cause it's "Special." https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/64878/?tab=description

I remember the days when a company wanted more money from an IP, they created a NEW game.
