    Depends on what you mean by "play now".  The Devs are playing it now and some of their videos are being uploaded on YouTube.  But is it ready for mass consumption?  No.  They haven't even started alpha testing yet.  Hopefully soon.

    It's a donation to help the development of the game, not an entrance fee. That pledge also includes tons of other stuff. It's not just about Pre-Alpha. That's pretty standard for crowdfunded games. It's also important to remember that Pre-Alpha won't really be "playing the game." It will be serious testing. Pre-Alpha will not really resemble what the game will look and feel like at launch. If you are really committed to helping the game out and want to be in the world as soon as possible to start working on improving it, that's what the pledges are for. But if you're not that invested in it and just wanna play the game and the pledges sound like too much, that's fine too - launch will be here eventually :)
