Seriously, I am worried.

Consoles have too much power.

Period.

How do we get more people into PC gaming?? Having voice chat???? Having a second life? Its hard.

People are doing it with consoles though..... ugh I love PC so much better, do you?

I love oldschool consoles BEFORE THE PC ONES BECAME BETTER!

How do I prove to the youth or just other people in general that PC is better than console hands down!

This site is not as active as it used to be it seems. MMORPGS may be dying, it seems? Or maybe people have just found satisfying ones and not on the look out as much... in that case, what the hell are you playing? Maybe I want to join?

This is what happens when you have idiots brigade the forums insisting that MMO stands for all this other bullshit that it clearly doesn't. They drove away all the actual Massively Multiplayer Online gaming enthusiasts. Now you have people talking about how Path of Exile is there favourite MMO. It is no longer a specialized site. There is no longer an MMO forum on this site (at least not a moderated one). I even made a thread for Battlefield 1 claiming it was my favourite MMO in the MMO forum here. What happened? Well it was left up and I got responses. I didn't even read it. 

And ps; no one gives two shits if you are drinking. Its not special. Its nothing to brag about. Sure it was cool to announce when you were a teen to other teens. But online, you're just a douche.

Well i think we rely on this site but all they are doing is feeding us advertising.
So then we hope for someone to bring up a good discussion on some quality game but when there is so few quality games the odds of a good discussion drop off badly.
I am not into moba,arpg and not a big fan of single player anymore although if something intriguing comes along that is different and unique,i'll listen and take notice.

Strategy games are ok with me but mostly i have been locked into thinking a great mmorpg was going to arrive and forums become excited but everything is just an advertising gimmick to get KS money or EA money,nobody is showing us a game that is self promoted or of quality NOT asking for our money up front.

So it really looks from where i am standing like 99% of the developers are simply trying to ripoff gamer's for some  quick fast money ,then hanging them out to dry.So rather than quality and people come in and talk about THAT game,they are out game hopping from game to game without anything good to discuss in forums.

Point being that there is not one good site where you can go anymore that is about serious gaming talk,everything is misleading advertising.
I have more fun of late just watching game trailers or movie trailers rather than listen to any FAKE reviews or whatever else from here or IGN or any other site.

I don't see much good discussion on any sites anymore,i think a LOT has to do with the lack of effort the people put into their sites.I see a fair decent response to some MMA articles and a bit more if you want to allow yourself to be gimmicked by Facebook connections.

It sort of looks like the transition from IRC to forums and then streaming.There is a very large base in Twitch TV but not a lot of quality discussion,mostly goofy kids talking nonsense.Life is changing,times change,new ideas new places for people to hangout.Don't forget the cell phone,geesh i see people texting non stop all day long,geesh i see people can't put their phone down even when on a machine at the gym.
So yeah there are a LOT more different hangouts now than just forums.One my fave forums to hangout a longtime ago was Allakahzam which really is not even a hangout anymore.When i started on the internet forums it was Heat.net which doesn't even exist anymore,so yeah forums and times are changing.

 He doesn't mention anywhere that he's drinking.. The title is just a metaphor.. Anyway to be back on our subject here, I will have to agree with @Wizardry . Times change, people nowdays want news and informations to get them instantly and same goes with the gaming.
 Personal point of view , don't even bother worrying about consoles vs pc or mmos vs other genres.. It is what it is, keep doing what gives you personal satisfaction when you are gaming and if you can do it with friends or within a small community that is even better.

I don't agree with that. Especially since there aren't a lot of MMO only sites. The only sites I can think of other than this one is MassivelyOP and MMOSite.

Massively does cover other games. MMOSite? Not sure what their deal is, they seem to have a lot of Asian games.

So unless you are suggesting they are all going to rush over to MMOSite (not sure if they cover non mmo's looks like they do cover other types of "online games") I don't know where strictly mmo players would go. Unless of course you know of other sites?

The main problem however, is this site is riding on the back of a dying genre. There is nothing you can do except try to convince developers to start making mmorpg's again.

This site has been listing non-MMOs for quite a while now. As Sov said it's not like there is anywhere else better to go.

I use to come here a lot until lately but it is not because of other games but more because the direction these MMO games have gone. They lost the RPG, created a pay for convenience and have become more of a pay to develop scam.

I find my time better spent doing other things than wishful thinking. I do show up once or twice a week to see the repeating scoreboard though.

Bragging about drinking? lol Im too old for that... drinking is pretty stupid anyways but I think it was more a warning incase I typed something stupid. I just thought of the title when I entered the pub and ranted my buzzed thoughts. Fun stuff! This is the magic that forums are made out of.. but back on topic...

What concerns me the most is that kids are much less likely to want to even try a PC because of consoles... so how are we going to maintain constant growth? Also, it seems that there is no winning because if we are lucky enough that they do check it out, they will be from a later time period where games are made to hold your hand until the ending... its like watching a movie to us oldschoolers... boring!
