I have most of the books (I would say "all" but some may have come out recently that I have not purchased). I thoroughly enjoyed most of them, particularly the night elf Trilogy by Richard Knaak. I have shared the series with several people, including those who do not play the games at all, and have generally gotten good feedback from those who joined me in reading them.
Day of the Dragon comes before Beyond the Dark Portal.
Every single website and person says it doesn't, but they are wrong. I've just read both these books and the events around Deathwing don't make chronological sense if you read Beyond the Dark Portal first. In Day of the Dragon, Deathwing is thought to be dead and makes a comeback. In Beyond the Dark Portal his being there is expected.
Seriously, Day of the Dragon first or you'll be scratching your head at the start of it after what happens at the end of Beyond the Dark Portal.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
