There is one thing that they did really wrong with BDO

And that is item drops.
What do I mean by that, well It's quite simple, in BDO we have few set armour and weapon pieces, they are usually ugly as hell, hence the cashshop but that's besides the point, we the players have to grind and grind and grind and grind and grind to get blackstones to enchant those butt ugly armour and weapon pieces.

What I would love to see in BDO is like in Everquest, you have drops like , rares, legendary, fables ect and you can collect full sets and those sets looks different and with different stats.

In BDO no go, you have your crappy pos armour and weapon outfit and play the lottery for better enchantments.

Yeah this is one of the few things remaining that bugs me about the game since I started playing.  I don't mind the "enchanting route" for progression, but when there's no outfits available in-game, it's annoying.  They have mentioned that they're considering making more outfits craftable.  Ultimately, it's part of their payment model and it's designed to make you want to spend the outrageous amount of money on an outfit.  It's better than p2w, but annoying.

That being said if you throw a few basic dyes onto your gear it doesn't look half-bad and you can change that up at least.  Decent things are pretty expensive with loyalty so I just buy dyes.  Here's how my character currently looks:

It was made in Korea, so what do you expect?  I can't name any Asian made games that don't have grinding, but then again I typically don't play many for that reason and others.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

See, I believed that Black Desert was trying to copy Lineage 1 since they're very similar games. Lineage 1 allowed players to polymorph into different creatures or characters as they progressively leveled. Polymorphs would give benefits such as reducing cast time and swing time on weapons -- while also making your character uniquely different depending on your level. Black Desert had every opportunity to implement this similar system, but they didn't do it. It makes sense that they WOULD since they completely lack custom armors. Maybe in the future.

They should make the characters fat and slobby untill you pay to make them skinny.
Are you onto something or just on something?

Once they release the item that let's you skin other equipment into costumes we will see a lot more people with different costumes.

Now we shall hope this said item is not a cash shop only exclusive but also a loyalty item. Even if it's a cash shop exclusive, if it's cheap I guess it shouldn't be that bad.

LOL wtf are you talking about?  You can't grind outfits in BDO.  The OP is complaining that your look doesn't change while you grind.

Since it's a Korean MMO, I expect a metric crapton of outfits.  Nope, not this one.

I would think having a system where people can hack the game would be another thing wrong with it.

If there's one thing most people that are new to the game complain is equipment visual or costumes.

Can we please stay on topic? Do we really need another thread stating the obvious lack of protection from hacks?

Disagree. It was the RNG stats on level up. I had to roll three Sorceresses to level 50 until I settled on one that had good HP rolls, and yeah at 50 having more HP than my level 57 guildee is pissing him off. He is re-rolling. Lots of my friends are. Some are just leaving because they don't want to play to 55+ again on the same class just because they have 200+ HP less through no fault of their own.
And yes, tests were done naked with 30 Health. Same guild, so bonuses were the same.

This was a stupid, terrible mechanic.

Lots of things wrong with BDO, lots of things done right too. You can either chose to enjoy what it does right or rage about what it does wrong. Eitherway its up to you which part you want to focus on. I actually don't mind the RNG in the game, then again its a good place to hang out since you can do so many things.

I do agree though that it does take considerable skill to play a melee class, my musa can get 2 shot by mobs. However part of my problem is that I didn't understand are AP and DP worked, now that I do I can farm a lot easier, usually things 3 - 5 levels higher then myself solo.

The gear progression is clearly set in stone and the best in slot gear is the same for every class end game.

So there is no theory crafting or wandering what to go for.

Boss armor best in slot pieces, Kzarka/liverto. Ogre ring, valencia acessories, class specific offhand

So knowing what to aim for is 100% known

The hard part is getting drops due to RNG, and then enchanting due to RNG *especially * accessories which you LOSE upon failure, and that % chance of loss is high after PRI (even wit max failstacks)

    Where the game went wrong:

    1. Boss mechanics that are HORRIBLE for melee classes - example Bheg - will one shot any melee and due desync, you don't even who he is aiming for. He just blinks and teleports from place to place and you see melee players falling over - there isn't even an attack animation most of the time.

    2. Screwy DPS calculation - the top 40 DPS players are awarded boss loot - rangers and wizards are usually 99% of top 40 because they can safely DPS from afar and not die every 5 seconds like melee.

    3. Boss fights = eat Elliot tears unless you want to lose hours and hours of XP

    4. Server desync - mention in #1 - been plaguing NA servers since beta, Daum has allegedly done server upgrades that have done nothing to address the problem. This is most affecting Zerkers and other melee classes reliant on grab mechanics - Makin those classes broken in PvP and boss fights

    5. Increased grind time in NA/EU compared to Korea - makes no sense tHar our version gets slow progression which only increases the grind

    6. No night vendor, no crafted set tickets, no items to boost enchanting success, delayed awakenings (post valencia), energy use on processing etc...
Koreans have it FAR better than we do, there are a lot better options for in game costumes, faster progression, easier ways of getting armor stones, items that reduce accessories enchantment loss, awakenings that helped melee classes be on par with ranged

    7. Class imbalance both PVE and PVP in NA/EU ! Without awakenings black desert is Ranged Desert Online - rangers and wizards simply have the easiest time grinding, getting boss drops, PvPing - the disparity is HUGE when you throw server desync in the mix.

    8. Client hacking - hp\mana cooldown, easily by passable Xigncode3  it's a hackers paradise

    9. Horrible support - god forbid you run inot a game breaking problem - you are going to be waiting weeks and most likely will never hear from support

Those are the top problems with the game
well so much for staying on subject, that train went right off the tracks.

Yea the gear look is my biggest issue with the game as well. Its fun running around other mmos and looking at other peoples gear and seeing the cool things that can be found and then getting them yourself. Oh well im still having fun in bdo otherwise.
