    HA!

does that mean (like oculus) the price of the game is also the price of the machine to run it or is that crazy talk?

Wow, looks great, if it runs on consoles it should run on most pc's.

    Yep.

And it's DX12, I remember people saying that DX12 games would run on lower end hardware and be more optimized.

So much for the stupid propaganda.

What the hell does an average looking single-player game need 16GB RAM for lol.

well, good luck on their sales

I don't know many people who meet the recommended specs of this game, I bet not even 1% of gaming PC have these specs

    OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790, 4GHz or AMD equivalent
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 980 Ti or AMD Radeon R9 Fury X
    RAM: 16 GB
    VRAM: 6 GB
    HDD: 55 GB available space
    DX: DirectX 12

    the game costs $1500 +  $60

my joking aside I really do think its part of the 'trying to make PCs look bad conspiracy' which for anyone who thinks conspiracies are not possible I have to ask them why is oil trading at $27 a barrel now with all the Peak Oil

I think your estimate of $1500 is on the low side!

As for the i7 4790 cpu it is in tier 1 of Tom's Harware CPU Hierarchy chart. The AMD alternative? There isn't one.

If it doesn't work don't complain we told you what you needed!

I think this article is part of the reason:
    http://www.pcworld.com/article/3032510/software-games/microsoft-plans-to-make-windows-10-xbox-one-game-crossbuys-a-habit.html

if they can get enough people going 'wow this new console game I bought barely runs on my new PC' then they will just buy console games....yup that is my running theory and its the only one that makes sense to me

It looks pretty good, only thing i don't like is the fog lighting,i hate games putting so much fog lighting in their game.

they are putting fog lighting in so that the min requirements can be dropped from 32GB of ram with super cooling super computer down to just 16gb of ram ...

it is probably the only way Xbox One can still force exclusives

Xbox One marketshare is pitiful compared to PS4

so.....they tell developers they can make their "exclusive" on PC too, increasing sales

That is recommended, not minimum, big difference.  Still very high, but I am sure most mid-level gaming PCs will be able to handle the game, just not max everything out.

Finally a game that will use my system specs.
because it's a last minute unoptimized port
  • BaitnessBaitness Member UncommonPosts: 675
Knowing nothing about the game other than that short video and what you guys are saying here, I would hope that the recommended requirements are because of extra options in the PC version.  Didn't these guys do an amazing job with Alan Wake?

I'm tired of unoptimized ports, and I'm really tired of OS-specific games. I was really interested in Gigantic until they pulled that 'Windows 10 required' crap.

The game doesn't even look all that good, graphically or otherwise.
