    @tawess

Knowing many of my fellow EVE players waiting for SC to start ...

There will be MASSIVE carebear tears on day one as countless solo piloted big ships without escorts will be slaughtered by hordes of cheap disposable fighters and screaming maniacs boarding these ships. Which will quickly increase the number and might  of pirate kingdoms out in the lawless systems ...

Outfitted with these "cheap" new big ships the pirates will come back on Day 2 and do it again ... this time in style .... maybe even fighting off  the advocacy for a while until they capture the next wave of flashy expensive ships through boarding actions.

That may well continue until people wise up and use player marines and player escort flyers.

    Since day one.

I'm sorry, how does that make you less wrong about premium ammo?  I asked you to stick to the facts since you are such a stickler for them yourself.
Let me again remind you of the point i made.

    Star Citizen design principle.
EVERYTHING can be bought in game with in game money only. NO ITEM  is exclusively available only for real world cash.

    Other games:
Various items/tanks/ships/planes  with better stats than the normal items are ONLY available for real world cash and cannot be attained only by playing the game and buying with in game currency.

World of Tanks is (and has been for many years) one of these "Other Games". They still have premium stuff you can ONLY get with real world cash. They may have changed it for premium ammo for the last year, but for the 4 years before that they happily sold it for cash. Like they still do with many vehicles ... you may take note that many of them ONLY have a monetary tag attached, no in game "gold" price.

Pretty much yes =) Also i was not being ironic...(i made it sound like that i realized) You need to make the game very accesable to keep a healthy population... But as you say... The pirates at the start will have a glorious time. =)

Just wanted to toss this suggestion out there for you. Get rid of the "Have fun" thing.

This may seem silly, but for whatever reason closings like that irritate people. Since you seem to come across to many as a shill, adding something that pokes at people, especially on a subconscious level, doesn't help you come across as genuine or get your message across any more effectively.

Just an observation. Do with it what you will.

A buggy costs 15.000 UEC. I suspect even the smallest spaceship costs more than 10 times the value of a small open golfcart. But that is just guesswork at the moment.

What we do know is info from the devs:  you cannot buy ships with that special wallet.

Roberts says the opposite here (timestamp 44mins 56 secs)

"I really want that cool ship but I only want to play 2 hours, so I don't mind spending a "little?" bit of money to have some extra credits so I can go buy that."

Sounds exactly like you buy UEC with cash, the UEC gets added to your current capital and you buy whatever it is you want. No differentation at all.

They have always stated that everything sold in the stores could be aquired ingame (atleast pretaining to the ships).

The bonus to buying the ship vs grinding for it ingame is that insurance / replacement you get when buying it vs the grinding method where you pay for the ship and then turn around and also pay for the insurance on the ship.  Where the store bought ships have the lifetime insurance included with the store purchase.

So you never have to actually purchase ships with real money to get them. The ships where always there for people that wanted a legup at the start of the game and as a way to raise funding.

For me I just have a basic starter package. I do not have any real intentions of buying additional ships or stuff because part of playing a game is the process of aquiring these other ships via ingame means.  It's sort of like buying world of warcraft and getting a instant level capped toon. To me it feels like missing out on the actual game itself. But thats just my opinions of it.

Ah, the Gamestar Gamescon 2014 interview. I was there in person in the crowd  :-)  Its easy to answer that one:
He corrected himself later  (guess his team reminded him) that ships cannot be bought that way.

So far (Okt 2015) the official stance is:  "No ships, but skins/temp. tuning kits/basic modules etc."

Chris Roberts gave a quite detailed long answer to those questions in the forums.

Actually I forgot about him until all of this SC started going around. Now like Smedly, Lord British, or McQuid those are the famous one's (they really are the one's that made the industry). CR was never really on my radar or really on others that I know. Right now he isn't famous for a game he is famous for the biggest KS of all time.

Also if he does not pull this off, he will be famous but not like he or you may be wanting him to be. Just saying him and his wife could go down in history as the one's that made the great game or the one's that ruined the industry. Time will tell!

To my knowledge (from dev answers)  basically every location with a spawn point will offer insurance for a trivial amount of money. So there wont be a difference between lifetime insurance and normal insurance.

End every reply to his posts with "I'm having fun."  Problem solved.  Psychology reversed.

Or spend six years "interviewing" some of the most evil men ever to walk the earth.  At which point the psychological effect of "have fun" is "lol, that's a cute, made for TV, entry-level psych technique".

From my understanding of the Citizencon  live presentation, once the ability to make UEC is added to the Crusader v.0 portion, we may be able to get a speculative estimate of the time requirements for UEC accumulation.
    I may be wrong, however.

So what you are saying is.

So what i am saying is ....

read what was written on that topic. To me it seems you did not.

Listen to a lot of international gaming journalists that have taken a close look at the system proposed by CIG and have declared it a "NOT P2W" system. If you do not want to read, watch a vblog.

Then you would know that CIG has said that they will NOT sell full ships after "Launch Day". Only ship skins and temporary tuning kits and such things. And that the UEC wallets are deliberately limited to a size that you cannot buy a full ship.

They WILL offer new "mission discs" that continue the storyline. They DO have an in game store for skins, kits, basic modules etc.

But there is an overarching design principle:
EVERYTHING can be bought in game with in game money only. NO ITEM  is exclusively available only for real world cash (like World of Tanks Premium Ammo or such things).

And based on what we have heard from CIG, it will take only a moderate amount of time to earn enough in game money to buy such stuff. Hours, days ... weeks for the really big stuff ... certainly not months or years. And the extremely large stuff (like Bengal carrier) can not be bought anyway but needs to be earned in game.
Same goes for exceptional modules  ("military hardware").

And all of what i have written above was - literally - said thousands of times before and can easily be found via Google.

    Have fun
And you believe them? With the prices they are getting now for funding Ships?

I'm not even going to ask you about trusting Media nowadays... I'll leave that sidebar alone...

If you want to trust them go ahead, your right and your choice. Not me. I see "sucker" written with a sharpy on everyone's foreheads who trusts in this kind of funding.

I do hope I am wrong and someday I will have to eat my words. Until then I will spend money on only released MMOs, not MMOs that may or may not be vaporware. For your sake I hope you are right in your faith of this project's ultimate success and launch (success defined by a Player's point of view, not an Investor's).
Lol the guy wasted 7+ million on voice actors, with no game even built, there isnt much hope in this working out. Not to mention the serious over the top pay 2 win, business model they have going on. Hey guys you want to start off the top dog on the street, dont you worry none, we will sell you this 2500 dollar ship, and those poor credit-less NOOBS wont have anything on you.

Btw did i mention, if you want a whole fleet of them, don't worry either we got all kinds of concepts of ships, we will sell you. Complete soon with gambling boxes to go with it, don't you worry your toes. We will slap new ships right in there, 100 bucks a ticket.  haha

So those who have already paid 1k for that nice shiny battleship will need to dump a ton more money into the game to hire things to help protect and fly said ship.  Yea its a perfect money grab and perfect pay to win game scenario.  Those who work hard will be competing directly with those who spend tons of cash.  Look at how this ruins game economies.  Dumping money into the game for gold causing prices to go crazy high.  Yea this is working just like Archeage but with much more upkeep required to keep the stuff you already own.
Are you onto something or just on something?
