Dude there is no comments section to the article on the website. Registering or logging in will make no difference...
Any comments posted on social media accounts are separate from the article itself, why would anyone think that's a good idea? You're adding a layer of abstraction between the talking points.
It's like saying reply to MMORPG.com forum posts on their twitter feed... who the hell is going to do that?

Traditions are being upheld .... CitizenCon is delayed by an hour ;-)

They fill the time with interviews and pre-show banter.

    ...And so it begins ...

363 CIG employees as of now.

They show a "I am a Star Citizen" testimonial roll.

Chris Roberts on stage .. now going through the 2012-2016 SC  timeline.

The are talking about "Spectrum", a huge community hub including new forums, chat channels, voice chats, a web app, available for mobiles and tablets  etc.

Video ... the UEE "Militia Mobilization Initiative"... a post Vega attack patriotic piece .... nice look at the new Polaris Corvette

They will NOT show the expected SQ42 mission - not ready yet in the quality they demand of themselves.   :-(

    Star Marine .. there will be a 4 vs 4 and a 12 vs 12 mode.

    Roadmap:

Alpha 3.1 adds mining and quantum interdiction.

Alpha 3.2 adds salvage and repair

Alpha 3.3 adds rescue and farming

3.1 to 3.3 adds new ships ...e.g. Carrack and 890 Jump in 3.3

Alpha 4.0 Jump Points out of Stanton .. more systems .. exploration and research

Video - Procedural Planets V2 Demo. So far thats the highlight. Vegetation around landing pads and Tatooine style desert and canyons. "Sandpeople" ambush a rover ;-)  Crashed Javelin and Dune-style sandworms. Stealth melee kills in a sandstorm ;-)

They show the planetary editor, then hop in and fly around, visit another planet with a sulfur mine. With a small cameo appearance of Mark Hamill and a quick look at the Polaris in space.

Ends with cake, singing and drinks.

Getting round about 40+ mil a year on staff costs with all those employees.    Better buy more ships.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

There have NEVER been any booths for playing at ANY CitizenCon.

    Your mistake this for GamesCom.

So NO ONE but you expected Star Marine booths at CitizenCon.

I see they edited out the end where the video (movie) messed up and reshowed the worm and backing out. We all laughed watching it at home after Chris said it was live. That one thing showed it was never live. It was like they were cursed from the start of CitizenCon!
Oh man is there unedited footage cause that would be hilarious to see

I really loved how this haters really complain of bugs and overall glitches to prove things are faked? On a tech demo? The camera shaking, really?

For who decently understands how the scripts are ran on this demos (and overall missions on games), the ending is pretty clearly something that triggered the same ending cinematic twice, yes a cinematic, as it's well known SC does not pre-render so they just scripted the camera as it pulls off the screen.

The silly pointless part of the video showing the camera entry is stupid to put it simply, this is not a gameplay video (unlike the 3.0 demo) over it being a showcase of the planetary tech; complain about that is wtf? seriously?

Hmm there could be an explanation for that because it appears at that moment they pressed the free camera zoom out button.  Its possible that the cache replayed it by accident.  But it does look quite suspicious.

Posted today, pretty unique RTV with pretty much all the Management figures of CIG; Chris, Erin, Tony, Brian Chambers and Erik all on the same room replying questions, big one though 1.2h:

Resume of the hour half long RTV, just to ease following up click on the "Q:" and it link to the timestamp on the video.

    1

Q: Chris, In the slides specifically from 3.0 to 4.0 there was no mention of ships docking together, when will we be able to launch our snub-craft from larger ships? When will we be able to transfer fuel or cargo between larger ships?

A: Not in 2.6 but we are aiming to get that functionality in between 3.0 and 3.1.

    2

Q: Tony, after watching the CitizenCon demo will there be alternate options like diplomacy, bribery, etc. to gain access to mission sites without having to murder locals right off the bat?

A: Yes, they plan to have a full system that gives players a full range of options to make it was realistic as possible. Some ways will be possible while with others they won't be and some methods like brute force work better than say, diplomacy on particular encounters and vice versa.

    3

Q: Erin, We know that there's a revamp on the Cutlass Black in progress. Will that be applied in time for the red and the blue rollout in 3.1?

    A: Yes

    4

Q: John, a little about Spectrum. With the original Orgs 2.0 (Organizations 2.0) becoming Spectrum, what does this mean for the other Org 2.0 features like Fleetview and Management?

A: Management features will be incorporated into Spectrum. Spectrum will have the full features of Org 2.0 and upcoming features but also notifications, real-time chat etc.

Fleetview will be finalized using game designers approach in what they want to see as well as ideas from the backers. First and foremost the issue they want to address is security, especially if you don't want a private ship to be in your organizations fleetview as well as preventing other organizations knowing.

It will all come into a nice UI functionality.

    5

Q: Brian, How much of what we saw at CitizenCon can we expect to see in 3.0, specifically tech-wise?

A: Everything, and more. What we built for CitizenCon is prior to this month and everything from then we create will be part of 3.0.

    6

Q: Brian, What were the specs of the PC running the procedural planet?

    A: Intel i7 6-core (could be anything from a 5820k to a 6850k)

    64 Gigs of SysRAM

    1x ASUS 1080 @8GB VRAM

    Intel SSD

(point of addition: Intel is partnering with CIG which for any investors is a point of solidification in a project. It means it's on the radar now for worthwhile investors)

    7

Q: Tony, what is the current status of instancing? How do you plan to keep playable areas expanding without feeling empty or risk crashing the server if everyone tries to gather in one spot?

A: We already have instancing with Arena Commander and have the groundwork to release it now. It's 75% of the way where they wan't it. The plan is to have a unified model like in Elder Scrolls Online where the instancing is dynamic.

Main focus is to prevent starports, bars etc from being too congested but also favor friends, organization associates, etc.

The low level instancing will be in 3.0. Unified dynamic instancing will be after with no known date. A test of the Unified Dynamic instancing system will be in 2017.

(I know a bit about this area personally. It's generally one of the latter areas in development because you need to have a foundation and locations fully fledged out before you start using instance grading in areas and assigning areas into logic formations for servers to unify)

    8

Q: Chris, Will we be able to quantum jump from the atmosphere like they did in the presentation?

A: No, that was for time compliance purposes for display. In the game and because of physics, you will not be able to jump into or out of an atmosphere.

    <P2>

    9

Q: John, on the Spectrum side, will we have the ability to add integrations like chat-bots to help organizational channels.

A: Yes, but not chat bots right now. We're using Ract and Redux as a stack platform for Spectrum. Although there won't be chat-bots, you may see them in Org banking and others but only after the release.

    React = https://facebook.github.io/react/

    Redux = http://redux.js.org/docs/introduction/

    Full opensourcing here = https://github.com/reactjs/redux

    10

Q: Erin, Picking up ammo in AC (Arena Commander) from destroyed ships seems a little video game'y. Assuming no tractor beam or cargo scoop, will this be limited to AC or will we expect to see this in the Persistent Universe?

A: In the PU, it won't be like this. You will have to actually leave the ship to collect material and items, rearm, refuel etc. Tractor beams, scoops and the like may also be a method for certain ships. Expect AC to follow suit as the iteration in currently was a quick addition and is not expected to remain.

    11

Q: Chris, in Alpha 3.0, how will the procedural planet tech be applied to our four planets in Stanton System like ArcCorp, Hurston, Crusader and microTech? Will these be the planets as they have been designed to be, or will they be the stand-in planets like we saw in the v.2 demo until a new patch?

A: Stanton planets are being built within their lore. It will all look much better than the GamesCon demo because that world for instance didn't have the ecosystems we have now and all the tools that are available and improving day by day.

When 3.0 hits you'll get better than you saw at CitizenCon for those planets.

    12

Q: Chris, what kind of dark magic allows the game to track an object that is on a rotating (unrotating?) planet and keep it all in relation to everything else in a massive solar system at a millimeter precision?

A: We're on 64 bit mathematical precision. This isn't 64-bit binary, it's 64-bit vectored math. This allows for more precision when your values are incredibly high. It's about a larger range in a floating point that allows this.

We're using the same relational transition grid from space to a ship as we use from space to a planet with added features like atmosphere, weather, gravitational event horizon, etc.

    13

Q: Erin, Star Marine. Will we have AI combat mode similar to the Vanduul swarm?

A: Yes, but not in 2.6. Currently it's balance of player-vs-player. When proper AI comes into the game in 3.0 you'll see Vanduul swarm type mechanics.

    14

    Q: Chris, has Sataball happened?

A: Sataball is on their roadmap but not until the later iterations of 3.0. It will be in Star Marine and other game styles but we want to put it in our PU like how racing will be.

    15

Q: Tony, the sandstorm. Mr. Vincent ran for his life, is that long term going to cause damage to their health?

A: The environment should affect the players on their health. This includes sandstorms, volcanic vents, etc. Weather effects will be more systemic that impede flying, landing and present health concerns to the players.

The point is to make a need for specific suit types, vehicle types, etc. when landing on a planet and venturing out.

    16

Q: Tony, It was mentioned that subsumption was going to allow for 24-hour scripting regarding crews, big ships, how does that apply to the AI crew?

A: AI Crews will stick to their cycles however like in SQ42, certain crew members will stick it out if you pull a long shift such as the Captain, etc.

NPCs will be in various areas as real world players or people in these circumstances be. They wont always be at their stations 24-7.

Crews will feel very real as they require food, and downtime, rest, etc. If asked to push through it, their effectiveness will continue to degrade. However it won't be micromanaging like a Sims game.

    17

Q: What's the one role you will not have your AI crewmember do?

    A:

Eric: I won't have him do guns. I'm a turret guy.

Erin: Engineer. That's the one I prefer to do. On second thought, I'll be the guy at the bar.

Brian: I love to do all the roles.

Tony: Same as Brian, I like all roles.

John: Navigation, because of the work we put on the starmap.

Chris: Captain, I would want to be the pilot.

Erin was actually creeping the scope during the stream, calling for new features and ideas; he seems to like dem mini-games! :proud: Erin is really best with short answers; we already have CR for the opposite.

Any Concern? Was Erin calling out for currency betting on player races on the PU, Australia just doesn't like that.
