Looks interesting. The first game is a bit off putting though, as I'm not a fan of paying for early access to the game. The second one is finished and reasonably priced so maybe I'll look into it.
I was considering buying Secrets of Grineda. But I'm really only interested in MMOs currently. My last few singleplayer/co-op purchases I haven't played at all really. Dying Light, Watch Dogs I beat, and a bunch of other Steam games as well. I can only get into MMOs. Idk. Or CoD lol.
When all is said and done, more is always said than done.
My first playthrough was about in the 10 hour range, so you can expect about 60 hours if you play each character's story, maybe less since you know what you're doing in subsequent playthroughs. I'm on my second playthrough and I have a feeling the only significant changes will be the prologue and ending for your character. I just need to see how the few major decisions throughout the game might affect things.
I liked the varying personalities of the characters, but the story itself was rather bland and the ending felt very rushed. There were only about 3 significant choices you could make throughout the game and I don't know what kind of impact they have on the story. Hopefully my second playthrough will give some insight.
I don't foresee myself playing past a second playthrough because the game just isn't interesting enough. It felt like this could have easily been a 40 hour game in a single playthrough had they developed the story more, but the game just felt really rushed and incomplete.
Nice thread, some other games to consider if you like this kind of stuff:
-The Amber Throne: JRPG with a unique look -Exanima: a LOT darker but as RPG as they come, almost simulation like -The Sacred Tears TRUE: oldschool JRPG look and feel

Secrets of grindea is an absolutely stellar game, but I'd really recommend not playing it until It's released, whats there is great, but it really feels crappy to not be able to finish it right now.

I so agree with you. I'll buy good single player games, like the Witcher 3 or Skyrim or Fallout but then I find myself playing my MMORPG of that moment 10 hours later and I never go back. Love CoD, too! First game here looks fun though and I'll probably get it at launch and have yet another non MMO/CoD game collect dust even though it's quite good and worth playing. Lol, ah the dilemma of being an MMORPG fan.
Cool list. Some stuff to occupy more of my free time! Yay!
Though they aren't new like those on the list, if you haven't gave them a shot already, check out the Deathspank and Bard's Tale series'. Got to have a little comedy amongst the serious.

Played Deathspank I believe, it was pretty amusing.
Couple others that have been on steam for a while are Breath of Death and Cthulu. Zeboyd supposed to be making another game (if it's not already out) that was supposed to have a Star Ocean/Tales of Phantasia vibe.
it's fun, but unfortunately It's relatively short, playthrough about 5-8 hours depending on how thorough you are, and after that It's mostly repeating content on a higher difficulty for better loot ( Only stat increases, no special effects )
Very much worth having a go at if you have friends to Co-op with though.
Should add that if you dont mind repeating content and enjoy an static stat increase item grind, you could get 20-30 hours out of this easily, maybe even more if you want to collect everything.
Supposedly a MMORPG looking and playing like Secret of Mana, you play as either a Celt or a Viking. From the forums, looks like they're gonna hit Kickstarter any day now.
