Impending Character and Claim wipe by the end of April (no set date)..

AsoneAsone Member UncommonPosts: 11

A heads up to those of you gamers that have taken a hiatus from Landmark and are currently participating in the closed beta. Although a date has yet to be announced, a complete wipe is due some time between mid-end of April. As per the usual, templates, pack items, and market place purchases will be saved. More details in the Q&A link.

For anyone planning to start back up again, many changes have been made since the start of closed beta. Granted the combat is still in it's infancy and is still a bore, what has been improved upon mostly have been the building tools and with the coming wipe we will be seeing new biomes, crafting changes, and much more as has been stated in the blueprint (see link below).

Although there is a date in the blueprint for the major changes, that of course can be subject to change as is stated in Landmark Live. Tomorrow also begins with a major update of the long awaited Prop Palette and Claim Upkeep changes. Until then, happy building!image

P.S. This wipe planned is NOT the transaction into open beta.

Currently active on: Landmark and Aion. Casual gamer on: GW2, Tera, and EQ2. Retired: PWI, Fiesta, and DCUO. Hyped for: EQN, BD, SC, FFXV, and No Man's Sky.

The most interesting point, for me anyways, is the comment that what is on the new blueprint could be months away.  Meaning, though the new biomes, islands, combat iterations (defensive abilities), etc. are coming in a month, the items like "Content Tools, AI & AI Tools" could be here by summer.  That's the point IMO that Landmark feels out its full potential.

Be kind of hillarious if at that point, they changed the title of the game to EQ:Next and released it as a finished product image

As much as I think that would make some happy who just want to jeer, by the years end I think we'll see Landmark as a "fully operational" sandbox with UGC and either be testing EQN or seeing full gameplay.

Sorry, but someone please clue me in.  How is a WIPE a SAVE?  Not getting this.  And please explain in terms that doesn't take Stephen Hawking to understand.

If you had bothered to check the link to the forum thread I gave, you would have understood. It is all explained.image

    But since you are asking.......

Template save: Think of this as a file saved of what you are currently building. These will not be erased with the wipe.

Pack item save: These are items that were received when a founders pack was purchased. They will be able to be reclaimed after the wipe.

Market place purchase save: Any items that are available for purchase in the game's cash shop (which is mostly made up of resources and cosmetic items). Anything you have purchased before the wipe you will be able to reclaimed after the wipe.

Just read what is in the link if you want anymore info. They have already taken the time to type that all out for the beta players.
