I tried Age of Wushu when it first released for the western audience and I couldn't puzzle through it.
Everything was designed and translated so poorly that I felt it was an uphill battle to actually learn the game.
Now I started playing again yesterday with the new starting zone/story and the game is amazing.
The user interface seems to have been cleaned up massively, the chat has been improved, the translations are better although some of them are hilariously bad.
One of them had me burst out laughing when an old man tells you, "The sword fight on top of Mount Hua is bullshit" or something along those lines. In retrospect the text itself isn't that hilarious but in context it was great.
The cheesy cutscenes for the story are fun to watch even though they aren't up to par with what I am used to.
The game has been improved what has to be at least 300% from the new expansion.
At least in a new player's point of view. It actually feels like a quality game now.
I highly recommend that anyone who tried Age of Wushu and couldn't get into it make a new character and start with the Tempest of Strife storyline.
Keep in mind though some of the translations are still sketchy but they still get the point across (this sometimes makes it more entertaining because it feels like a poorly translated kung-fu movie). Plus with the auto-pathing system you shouldn't have any problems.
See you in Wushu!
