In our weekly comic, artist Blaz Klaric brings us his irreverent look into the foibles of the MMO worlds we love, and love to hate. Check out "MMO Christmas" and then leave us your thoughts in the comments.

(smiles) Merry Xmass, and so happy that i have no interest whatsover for these events.. I play to feel like a hero, or atleast like someone trying to be a hero.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Great comic.  A lot of yours are good, but this one is great.

    Another good laugh.  Thanks :)

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

I enjoy the gifting, but I have to admit, the drop rate could be a bit better.

    It was hilarious :)

Sadly this is exactly the direction where games are heading with festivals and seasonal events.

For F2P RPGs, lots of them ask you to pay money for the holiday event items, too.

Liked that one a lot!  Very funny!

    Merry Christmas, all!

That's actually more realistic, don't these things normally cost money? In a normal scenario his dad would have bought him all the presents :-p

Clearly the Author must have been playing RIFT lately, cause almost to the point this is exactly how they did it.

Though, once he gets that present crafted it is gonna be sooo worth it, everyone gonna want it, rarity and worth ftw.

    Nice comic, lol.

That was pretty good, and depressing.

Happy Christmas y'all.  What is your day been like?  I suppose nothing like this little feller?  I started the day cooking & cleaning.  Wrapped one last gift.  Spent sometime in Minecraft.  Called my family, checked my email.  Spending some time in the forums, then back to coding.

    Happy New Year Everyone.

Too true. Good thing some MMOs don't do that to their players. image

    Funny because it is true.

Only christmas event I really enjoyed was frostfell in EQ2. Everyone got a little something and it didn't feel like a monetization model in disguise.
