If I want to sit at my desk and play a game with the keyboard and mouse I play a PC game. If I want to lounge on the couch and play a game with a controller I play on a console. Both have their place and I don't see one as better than the other personally. The better graphics of my PC over my console is really secondary because the Console offers a completely different play style for me.
As for the PS-4 vs XBOX One I have not seen anything from either console to make me really excited about buying a new console. I'm going to sit this one out for a year or so and wait and see how the game libraries mature before I buy a new console.
trollolol. You do realize you could never expect a console to compete with a dual card PC. And a year ago? These consoles aren't upgraded every year like PC gamers do, they are one time payments for the next 6 years.
Any sort of comparison between the two is simply invalid if you don't adjust for cost.
And really you don't have to upgrade every year, you do because you want better. I got a 5yr old rig my kid uses that i'm sure will run another 2-3. The bar is not set, I set the bar. That being said I will buy both anyways cause I want titanfall on XBL. Run down for next couple months though

Optimizing PC games for consoles is kinda like outfitting your car for a bike trail.
So can these PCs from $500-750 and they are capable of doing a whole lot of other things other than gaming too, like even making them! Or powerpoint, photoshop, spreadsheets, writing, playing emulators of older consoles with widescreen HD textures. And all sorts of other things. You can use any kind of controls on them. You can customize the games controls and interface for your comfort. You can mod games and take your favorite game to a whole new level (Skyrim mods for example).
I could go on but I wont. Oh look most of them have 1TB of space compared to only 500GB and games are becoming very large

Well it's normal for your eyes to see what you want them to see. The professionals disagree with you and personally I'm not bias either way like clearly some are and I can't notice a difference either way. If I want graphics I play my PC .
Digital Foundry, a website looked to by most console gamers for Side by Side comparisons of multiplatform titles still gave the nod to the PS4 because it has a higher resolution and a steadier frame rate, as did plenty of other sites.
And I posted a link that's says that most wont notice the difference. The link I posted actually gives Xbox the nod. Now feel free to post a link that shows all these multiplier games side by side cause there really is not a lot those right now. Xbox has more preorders for cod ghost and according to my link looks better but that is hard to notice. Again if I want graphics I sit at my PC. I play the xbox because my friends and family are on xbox live. For these post to claim ps4 blows Xbox away are a joke. Xbox does NOT blow ps4 either they look identical to 99% of those who will be playing.

I think the point is not the grafics, but a medicore PC beating the next gen consoles even before they release. Think about the situation in 5 years,...7...9...
Most console players hoped for a jump in power, getting their console games at a better quality then current PCs and compareable quality a few years down the line. Whats the point in buying hardware for 400-500 bucks that is outdated before it even reaches my house? This is actually quite a serious topic as the hopes of competing with PCs got smashed before release.
After all is said and done it comes down to this:
Use a PC if you want serious gaming and great grafics
Use a console if you want to play while sitting on your couch.

How many times does DICE need to state that they are adding HBAO (among other things) to the final xbox one build before launch, until people on this site stop claiming the xbox one ver doesnt have HBAO?
Dollar for dollar a console wins over a PC and is a great system for the money. A $400 PS4 will kick a $400 PC's ass. I mean how can you argue with a whole gaming system for the price of a mid range video card and the graphics are pretty sweet for that $400
Now when it comes to performance
I build all my own rigs, I've got a home network of 4 computer's just for myself, I'm heavy into flight simulation. My main rig is worth over $6000 and is dedicated to simulation. If you want to talk graphics and frame rate this machine will blow you away and the simulation software can bring it to it's knees. My next system set me back about $1500 and I play all my other games with it. It will play all the latest and greatest titles just as good as the $6000 rig as long as were using a single monitor, Multimonitor is a different story. The other two rigs are $1000 server's that run app's for the simulator.
On a technical and performance standpoint, a console cant even compete with what a PC is capable of period, end of story.
I haven't updated my computer in about 2 years, and that was only because my old video card shit the bed. I paid about $1500 for mine 5 years ago and have only added a SSD and the new video card (GTX 580). I probably could have paid under $1000 for what I wanted but I future proofed my rig by spending a little more. I have no plans to upgrade anything else for at least another 2 or 3 years.
I use my PC everyday, and not just for gaming (we can use PCs for other things besides playing games). I also have all the current gen consoles. My Xbox hasn't been used in almost 3 years, my PS4 hasn't been used since they had the big security breech awhile ago and I haven't touched my Wii (hehe ) in over 6 years. For me, dollar for dollar, the PC wins.

I would hardly call Crossfire 7970s a "midrange PC", although I could see calling the 8350 somewhat midrange.
I don't know what the point of that article was - the XBone vs PS4 stuff was interesting, but there's literally thousands of different PC hardware combinations you could have compared either to -- really the only one of interest would be the one closest to the hardware configuration of either of the consoles, so you could see if there were graphical differences inherent in running it on the different platforms, rather than seeing that faster hardware runs games faster...

Not surprising results. PS4 has better specs and, not surprisingly, beats the Xbox and a high end PC, having better specs than both, beats them both.
However I dont this is what will decide which is best. Title exclusitivity and kinect type gadgets will. And ofcurse marketing hype.
