WHAT?  You can't have an Elder Scrolls game without prostitution!  This stupid fail game is gonna fail for sure now.

If this wasn't Elder Scrolls, none of you would think twice about the exclusion of a whorehouse.

I get that it's supposed to be an actual place in ES lore, but how many other things can you find that aren't in the game as well?  I don't buy their pitch about players being able to take an existing building in the world and turning it into what this topic is supposed to be about either.  Firstly, we know we aren't getting any form of player housing, at least not initially.  Plus, it's highly likely that if we do, it will be instanced off from that actual game world.  So to be honest, how can we believe them when they say we could possibly take an existing building and customize it into a whorehouse?  Who is going to get to own it?  Are there going to be non-instanced guild homes?  Can we buy exotic dancers from the market?  Yeah right.

I do kind of think it's a lazy exclusion.  But, it's going to be one of the most accessible MMO's to date, due to it being released on both XBOX One and PS4, so there are going to be millions of children playing.  The vast majority of players won't even know it's there, or even care about it for that matter anyway.

    Hardly game-breaking though.

People need to get a grip if they think realism in an online adventure game means having nudity and whorehouses. I swear, people need to turn off the computer and go out and meet some real people, and not use online games as a substitute for a sex life. And if that's too much trouble, well, its not like its hard to find nudity on your computer.

To each their own...perhaps though, as a suggestion...you shouldnt be letting 7 year olds play Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim to an extent that they want to play an online version of it....otherwise, how would your 7 year old even know about this game? It certainly wasnt from seeing the Sat morning Cartoon version of it.

What people actually think is that they think about screwing alot more than killing in real life and wouldnt mind seeing a bit of it in games as opposed to new inventive ways to kill a orc.

Although from reading that excerpt, I wonder if they mind some player running a cybersex shop in their game? I know some pedophiles that would just jump at the chance to lure kids into a room to have cybersex with them since the game approves of it ....what with it's family friendly enviroment and all.....

He doesn't even play ES by himself, he plays it on a computer next to mine. He would play ESO the same way. We adventure together as a team (did it in SWTOR and Rift) and we would do the same in ESO. I turn his chat off, although at 7 it doesn't matter much because he would have trouble reading a fast scrolling chat box much less typing.

As far as comparisons between interest in adventuring versus sex, if people want to 'think about screwing', well, there are lots of places on the internet for that. If I went to a porn site I wouldn't complain about the lack of weapons and orcs, so please understand its a little weird to hear people complaining about a lack of virtual whores and nudity in ESO. Even Elder Scrolls just has underwear, although I suppose there are some mods that will let folks get their jollies off stripping down that female bandit they just killed.

What disturbs me is people who find this more disturbing than murder. How come digital whoring disturbs you but digital murder doesn't?

What a stupid comparison. Maybe the difference is that ESO is an online adventure game where people kill monsters and get loot in a fantasy world? No one is saying you cant go to a website that caters to virtual prostitution if that's your thing. I mean, sex doesn't disturb me, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be disturbed if folks were getting it on in front of a school or in a church. Time, place and setting matter. And who says ESO is supposed to be the one stop shop for internet entertainment? Jeeze.

From now on every article you write about this game will be summarily dismissed without even being read. I have TOO MANY games vying for my interest to waste even another second or cent on a childrens toy manufacturer.

    LOL.

Yes, because killing imaginary monsters in an imaginary world for imaginary loot is such an 'adult' activity, right? Hate to break it to you & people with your mindset, but there is nothing even remotely adult about this hobby. The sooner you accept that, the better off you'll be.

the Earthly Delights from TES III was a memorable place for those who played Morrowind; it wasn't just about girls dancing, there were quests, shady NPCs, and unique ambience; TESO doesn't need to be rated "M" to have this tavern, it can be done with good taste; I hope the devs don't place an empty building in Suran thinking players will actually roleplay

I'm pretty sure down the line this will be implemented but for now let the game get out the door first and gain popularity.
