Is the PS4 version going to be much different than the Ps3?

Also, if you were playing the Ps3 version and get a ps4, will the game automatically update? run off the PS4 engine?

Yes. You can even play with all your friends that have not purchased the PS4 who are still stuck with the PS3.
The PS4 version is exactly the same as the PS3 version except for the huge graphic improvements, full hd textures and other graphical goodness
