Or maybe both is wrong don't you think? You wouldn't argue armed robbery is ok because hey look at all the murders that go on.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Another shamefully childlike review from someone worried their girlfriend or mother may read it.

You know who's not offended by this game? Babies. Every human child has grown up staring at naked breasts.

It is the height of hypocrisy in NA society that adult males still are wards of the prudish guilt association born from the perverse catholic church and their forced moral code.

In the US apparently watching people explode into bags of red mist and bone shrapnel is morally acceptable but a group of men idolizing the female form and taking a tongue in cheek approach to the already rampant sexualization of women in games is high treason and "shameful".

What is shameful is the constant appologetic rancor from the MMORPG staff towards a title that doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is. It's a silly little MMO with barely dressed avatars. It is not some moral guidebook or lesson to be learned about the human condition.

Do you think people in Brasil or Spain or Italy have the same absurd hypocritical view of media like this? This is a neo-catholic guilt-associating self-berating view of the world and is morally childish and frankly embarrassing.

This review offered zero information about the mechanics of combat, only giving a cursory mention to the look of weapon abilities. The review spoke nothing about the audio, nothing about the writing, nothing about the level design. In fact from a game design standpoint the readers are left to wonder about how the game even plays. You've told us nothing more than all the staff at MMORPG are morality-nazis with no real perspective on the global culture.

It is completely irrelevant to the question of game design that a game's packaging makes you squeemish.

You guys seem to think your world view is the only valid one in existence. Grow up and compare apples to apples.

Moral nazis lol, I applaud them for saying what they think, many agree, many don't I assume. Nothing really to do with 'growing up' as you declare. Fact is the game is crap and has been decorated with crude sexual titalation. children will unfortunately play this and quite frankly i dont undersrand why an adult would even risk playing a game in the context

Please do heed your own advice as you seem to be one that needs it. Again, we aren't discussing seeing breast in a game. I don't understand why some of you have such a deep rooted desire to see naked 14 year old sex dolls, nor do I understand why you feel anyone that doesn't needs to grow up.

That's why it's offensive; not because it's tits, but because it's only allowed, because it's tits. If it's men, it's wrong, but if it's women, they're never naked enough. Yes, that is offensive.

    1) Male nipples are shown everywhere. Why are female nipples more offensive?

    2) I would find an advert with a ballsack showing to be hilarious.

Prudes are so annoying. Clothes are functional, they don't define us. [mod edit]

Here's a question, if you were playing this game, and some semi naked avatar that looked youngush started dancing in front of you- then they wished you to day they were 12, would you feel uncomfortable?

heh hypocrisy again. Every time I read a review about this game I notice double standards, personal opinions and strange frustrations..

    bottom line:

seeing a little skin in a game is tragic, unethical, horrible

war, killing people, blood splats, genocide  etc. in games is ok .. lol funny people.

  • RaysheRayshe Member UncommonPosts: 1,279

This game never offended me to be honest. i just felt it looked dumb, Ethics really dont matter and Morals differ from person to person. I see no reason that this game should offend, if anything people should be offended that a cheesy piece of crap like this is even trying to move into the MMO market. Its shit, the games shit, the ideas shit. its just straight up BAD. The only reason its getting publicity is because people are getting offended.

    Because i can.

This game definitely seems like another cliché F2P borefest to me.

However, I think it might have been a good idea to actually let a woman review this. It sort of bothers me that a whole lot of men are going around about it being "degrading". Now, it's obviously meant for men to play and therefore we could find it degrading that it only tries to go for our "lower instincts" right away.

But whether it is degrading to women should be something for women to judge imo.

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

I wish there were member ratings for reviews and articles. While I've not been drawn to trying out SB yet, I was first annoyed by it being included in the Worst of '12 list by someone who admitted they hadn't *played* the game, and now I'm annoyed by someone harping on their prudish recoiling in horror. That you'd find nudity degrading and shameful is more about your repressions than it is about how empowered females view their self-worth and pride. To each their own choices, but could we find someone who isn't, I dunno, a fundamentalist, to review games with ankles brazenly on display?

I'm not sure if that was meant for me or not. If it was...

Yes, with some getting bent out of shape because many find the game and it's models offensive it does come off as they have a deep rooted need to see these models, so much so that they need to bash and insult anyone that doesn't find the models appropriate for a game. Yes, I do feel that look like 14 year old sex dolls and for $20 extra yes, they can be naked.

Yes, being appalled by something that resembles a 14 year old sex doll is different from being offended by seeing breast in a game.

Yes, I feel telling people to grow up because they find the models and their young perverse appearance to be offensive to grow up is confusing.

You are correct that I do not see the hypocrisy so by all means please point it out to me.

I wish we could give reviews a score...

    /sigh

  • Otaku_IshiOtaku_Ishi Member UncommonPosts: 12

Since editing my post doesn't work (stupid site script and its editing not working right...).

I personally didn't enjoy the voice overs; they didn't match the characters appearances, nor did they match the style of the art. (I even tested the game before release)

The review itself wasn't from a neutral aspect that a writer should be taking. They're including their own morals, and not from the stand point of the games concept.

First, when you write a review you're suppose to take a neutral side. Furthermore, you start with the concept that the developers put in place for the game. Additionally, you cull what fits and doesn't fit based on the developers designs with the requests of the society of gamer's within the game itself. Lastly, you then input your views -- never start with those first.

I'd say if the other games on mmorpg.com were corrected and re-reviewed, then this score of the game, may actually fit appropriately to the over-all lack. But definitely fix this reviews content/body which states why said score was given -- correctly.

dude let me explain it to you: to grow up means also to be aware and responsibility of your emotions, thinking and reactions. if you have issues, you are ashamed of nudity or you have other problems with it

    1. dont go to a nudist beach

    2. try to understand what you are afraid of

    3. because we are speaking of morality  and  ethic - they are not universal. Game reviews should not go into this territory.  People spouting moral lessons on a gaming site are hypocritical (look the all killing, wars and drama in games ) and dont have the mandate nor competency to teach people of what is moral and what not.

I tried this game out just to see how offensive it was, and yes it  was embarrassing to play this while my fiance stood behind me. She's an anime fan, though, so it didn't bother her as much as I'd thought it would. What offended us both was how uninspired and outright boring the gameplay was. The days of hotbar MMO'ing need to die, and they need to die fast.

Hate this game for it's generic existence wrapped in a big breasted flesh pile, not for the big breasted flesh pile itself. There are a lot of reasons to dislike this lackluster title, we don't need to focus on the only reason people will play it in the first place.

Offensive? yes being offended is free. you can chose to be offended by whatever you want

Game can be bad for a lot of reasons. You being offended by it is not one of them.

p.s. to give you credit you did tell the reasons why you think the game is bad apart from "offended part".
