Well we have some news PSO2 confirmed for South East Asia in ENGLISH!

Yeah the title says it all , some people are a bit annoyed , but I see it as a positive for us Westerners as there is an English version there ( probably made in NA and/or EU , voice acted and Q/A'ed if that's a word ). 

So a fully English version , I wonder if us English speaking folk will be able to make an account ( if it comes out before the Western release ) ?

Either way I'm fairly happy .

Is there any way t get in touch with the people at Sega to ask them what's going on, or at the least take 30 seconds to confirm that the game is still going to be released or if it is canceled?

Capcom has just given up on releasing anything decent in the US due to how badly Monster Hunter failed here.  Thats ok though, PSO2 is ok, but not great, not really looking forward to it anymore after playing the JP ver a little.

 

Only thing I care about from them at this point anymore is the Ducktales Remastered

Ive played it on my dreamcast around 2001 i think back then i thought it was a great game later it was plagued by many hackers.

PSO 2 looks promising if its released in europe on PC ill prolly give it a try but dont have much hope for it.

I remember falling in love with PSO on my Dreamcast all those years ago, it was years ahead of its time, it was though basically a lobby shooter & I think it would fare badly in today's market, hopefully PSO2 offers enough to catch a following & do well.

Well 6 Southeast Asia Countries will get PSO2 early in 2014 , I'm not sure how many of those will be in English but some will. Here's a couple of links :-

Now i have looked into Asiasoft and noticed they host ( if that's the word ) several MMO's and the site is in English , so I have some hope. All I want to know really is if anyone has played any games via AsiaSoft from a country that isn't any of the 6 countries ?

Also I came across a login passport type of site for them and noticed a paypal guide so I'm hoping that is the way I could pay for my room etc on PSO2.

Some new news , the beta stress test of 50 k users is about to occur.

So whilst looking for any SEA pso2 new information on the web , I stumbled across this playpark link for pso2 (pso2.playpark.com ) , which when you click is blank , so then I thought maybe it's a place holder. So I searched for playpark and pso2 and low and behold finally we have news!!! omg lets get it on.

The closed beta is from 4 - 7 April http://www.playpark.com/th/

So that's the Thailand one on its way , more information here ( http://news.playpark.com/th/20656 ) , it will be a stress test of 50 , 000 players only and says to download before 24th March to avoid congestion.

Can't find information on the Singapore version as of yet. I will update this post or post again if I do find out about any of the other versions.

Also a guy is registering on Asiasoft playpark as I type this and could change language to English , So there is a slim chance that this is possibly going to be one server for all SEA Asiasoft , we aren't sure , but I will update if/when he gets into the beta.

A glimmer of hope for us wanting the game in English.

Looks like it is the Asiasoft English version , they are giving beta keys away and the closed beta is due to start on the 10th of April , I personally am going to wait until the official release. Be aware there seems to be mixed information about IP blocking so use or don't use at your own risk. I am not waiting for the Western version anymore.

So more news , the beta is on now from the 10th to the 13th and there will be no other betas , so it looks like the full release will be soon , i hope. Also they do IP block for regions outside of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand. So yeah a bit of effort is needed to be able to play outside those regions.

I also worked out that to buy @cash via paypal it is best to use one of these two sites  ( or any others you know of ) , bear in mind we don't actually know the billing prices for premium accounts or for anything as of yet.

Your account name in the beta can be taken into the official game launch but your individual characters will be wiped.

Here is an 8 hour plus twich video of the beta so you can get an idea of what to expect. One bit of cool news is that all the Japanese VO's. Well not for my partially sighted friend , who isn't happy , still i've read all the alien dialogue to him in SWTOR , many times , so he should be okish.

Well, I have no problem playing something with a lot of different languages around, as long as I can understand it myself and there are some other people who understand me to form a community with.

Even in games like WoW many European servers can have a large portion of players who speak different languages and that's definitely so for more obscure games.

Yeah I agree , the problem with when I played the Japanese version of the game was that I couldn't understand the text and most people I met spoke Japanese. So yeah too many barriers. Now this English SEA version , I will be able to read the text and even if the communities English isn't exactly the same as mine , well I should be able to communicate with them. Even if it is on a not so complex basis. Also in PSO / PSU we had the whole worlds languages.

There are a few problems with the translations though. They renamed some things , theses two being the most stupid.

Force = Wizard

Techinque = Magic

Hm in a sci-fi game no less , don't ask me why they did that but they did in the beta , let's hope they change those back.
