Well.. usually a good advice.. but not all ppl have that much time to try out any decent game around. Time is money, and i dont have unlimited on hands now a days. So i usually try to invest a few hours(or less) for some research before i start to download and start to play it. With just a few hours playing your really cant do any mmo justice.

So if you would eloborate your experience would be interesting.. not just for the thread starter.

Was several things.. the initial feel of this game reminded me a lot of jade dyansty which I think probably had a lot of the same people making it as its almost identical in some aspects(mostly graphically).. just look here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3g27nGaUlc

anyway that's fine i liked jade dynasty years back.. anyways I tried 3 schools played each one through the first story arc and got my school internal and unlocked all the weapons sets..

PVE is downright horrible.. translations are awful, mob pathing is jacked, its just a jumbled mess overall.

Combat is a mixed bag.. it gets a bit more fun after getting flying/movement skills but still overall never found a set i truely enjoyed.. just never felt smooth and can't put my finger on why but just wasn't very fun for me.

Crafting i found pretty tedious and not much fun at all, same with gathering at first it was nice and interesting but after a week or so i just didn't wan't to do any of it anymore.

PVP was somewhat fun if you both were similar in skill but a lot of the time things were very unbalanced and not much fun when someone is way outside your skill level.

Spying was fun for a week then that lost its appeal same with caravan raids/escorts

Script stealing was really only fun activity that was always fun for me...

Kidnapping was okay but not very interesting overall.

Graphics were decent and good in places but again very much identical to jade dynasty in many aspects

Everyone basically looks the same very little difference in appearance which is a huge turn off for me

Gold spammers are everywhere and there is no way to report them(afaik) and they really seem to care less about them

VIP being server bound instead of character or even account is a huge kick in the teeth and just really no reason in hell to have it aside from trying to milk people for more money

All in all i so wanted to like this game but just way to many issues for me to get into it and invest the kind of time this game really needs invested into it.

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. The first week is not. The 5 months I've played after that is under hyped.

Bleh from after all I read I am just going to save the time and disk space not to dowload and play the game.

I am not really a Pvp person so knowing this about the game made me shut down my thoughts about playing.

Thank you all for your answers. ^^

Hell no - it feels like a cheap asian f2p port just like any other, albeit different features.  Shoddy translation and all.

I can tell A LOT of people don't know the first thing about the game but post here, just because (why? Who knows).

The game isn't standard by any definition of the word.  Yes, maybe if you played for less than week.  That also means you know maybe 1% of the game, so why are you even posting?

I've played MMOs for 12 years, this one is by far the most innovation I've seen come out of Asia in years.  It's just a really fun game, but it has a learning curve that is among the steepest - partly due to mediocre translations and the fact that there's just a lot of stuff going on.  The game doesn't show any interest in holding your hand past the first couple of hours.  After that, it's all you.

For the people that are saying their routine is a few hours a day, you are simply bad.  I don't know how else to say it.  Spying 5 times takes about 30 minutes, if you even want to do it that much.  TPs take about 20 minutes.  The rest of your game time is totally up to you.

However, since you said you don't like PvP - then I would not suggest the game for you.

Yeah, that's probably the right thing to do.

The game has pvp in it's bones competition is built in. W/o question it's the best pvp game on the market.  You will never hear someone say "The pvp has no meaning."

This. If you are a PvE focused person skip this. I kept looking for a pve reason to like this game...couldn't find it.

That 1st 1% carries a lot more weight than you might be thinking. If I played 1% and try to comment on something in the other 99% then call me out on it. But I can speak to my 1st 1% and have every right to do that. There are many threads here where gamers will say they give a game a 1st impression but don't care to delve weeks into a game to find out if it's good or not. They aren't wrong for it either. Once again, I find myself stating something over again. I've had positive game experiences after toughing it out. But that's not common. Most times, After I have dug through a truckload of crap, I find there is only more crap. So, I'll admit it's possible there is a diamond in the rough here, but I haven't seen any evidence of that except for a few fans here saying it's there. I won't dismiss that outright, but I am waiting to see it. Until then......Pass!

Don't worry about it. I am one who did play for weeks before canceling and the game's weaknesses only become more apparent with time. The insane grind, the cash shop/gold buying funneling, the bots and spammers, the lousy PvE, the list goes on. All you did was save yourself some time.

Ha, I have to admit I was thinking the same while reading some of the comments, but you have to think about if a game is really that bad as what they're saying then why play for a few more weeks and waste your time knowning your just going to delete it?

I wasn't asking for a full scale review, but just for their input. But I see where your going.

I don't know know, I love asian styled games like when I use to play, TwelveSky and Hero Online when I first started to get into MMORPGs but when I look up gameplay it looks like an upgraded version of, Rumble Fighter and I wouldn't say I dislike the game, I just fill that PvP is better for FPS or Strategy-type games.

So thats the big reason why I don't want to even play the game anymore.

If all I heard was stuff about, "Cash shop, translations and etc."  I would have to play the game myself and see if those were the only cons I heard.

Is the PvP really that good? Is it like an arena?, or is it just the whole, "Change from Peace to PK Mode" thing.

Don't get me wrong I like PvP, but I started to hate it when the games I played were mostly pay to win, and PvP was determinded on who has the best cash shop items than the other. -_-

I think PvP should be based on skills alone, which is why I think only FPS & Strategy-type games are only good with PvP.

It has been over hyped to some degree, something to remember.  I found I got bored.

LeaningKidGoku it is skill based, today I had duel with guy 5lvls higher from clan that can disable skills and I still kicked his ass

You have clan wars, skills stealing, guild wars, spying/patroling, escorting/robbing goods, open pvp with pkers and police, and pvp in instances when boss ask players outside instance if they willing to help him kill "invaders"

I have been playing this game for about 4 weeks now, and I can personally say that I am pretty hooked.

Although, this is NOT coming from a veteran MMO player who's had any experience playing WoW or many other games (played Ragnarok Online for a long time and Aion Online). I'm a big fan of chinese Wushu and movies of this theme, so that helped me a LOT through the beginning of just walking around. I even found the quests enjoyable because of that.

I have never been a big PvP player, so I enjoy running instances there the most, along with some sneaky spying. Plus I'm enjoying pvp more and more as i play the game and get used to it. Yeah, sometimes random Gankers come and attack you, but I'm not a person who gets annoyed easily so I don't have a problem with that. Plus there's always the bounty system if you got some money if you do get annoyed by the ganker. I've had one ganker target me for a while until I put a 15L Bounty on him which made him run away like a little girl. That was the only one time in which I was annoyed.

The most fun part about this game for me is the community. The people I've encountered are pretty patient and answered every question I had. I've made a nice group of friends and we always run instances together and help out starting noobs. This community I mean is most people on the school chat for Scholars, I cannot vouch for how people act on the chats from other schools.

Pay to Win here is kind of true in the sense that if you're VIP you level up faster than who's not. You can also convert bought gold to player money in the game, which in turn you can buy the strong skills from other players that will give you an advantage if you know how to use them in fights. I don't do that though, I like the fun of grinding with friends till you get the item, it feels much more satisfying. Never had to convert gold either, once I started running instances, I just sell the scripts I don't need by playing the market.

Now, I know I am a very different and unique example of player of the game. I'm satisfied with very little and can overlook most flaws of the game because I like the theme so much, but I just wanted to give a different perspective from someone who's actually enjoying the game compared to most people who wrote here. If you can overlook most of the bad stuff like I have and is looking to enjoy something with your friends, then I suggest you trying it out for yourself. If not, it's cool too, play what you truly enjoy and not what others force on you.

Why play past the first 1% if the first 1% isn't very good?  Well, I'd start with the whole piece where this game is vastly different from most of the F2P market.

If you go in and play it like Twelve Sky 2 (to use your example), you will be disappointed because that is not how the game was intended to be played.

The game utterly requires an open, inquisitive, mind which is in severe shortage on these forums specifically.

It's my opinion, but this is the first MMO in about 13 years that held my attention for more than 3 months (last one was Diablo 2).

It's a PVP MMORPG...if PVP isn't your favorite thing about MMORPG's then the game feels empty.  that's how it felt for me, but I don't PVP

I will say I enjoy the game a  lot even though I have no clue what I am doing half the time lol. Great atmosphere and great pvp are two of the big selling points along with freedom to play the way you want.

It is the best PvP MMORPG and most unique MMORPG in recent years. So yeah, it is really that good. PvE aspect kinda sucks though

Its not a sandbox anymore than TSW was a sandbox..which it wasnt, dont let the sandbox hype fool you.  Its a themepark with a timed skill progression system ans TSW style character progression.

Its got a nice linear auto pathed storyline for you to sleep through in case your wondering what sandbox would have such a thing...none would.

The game itself really is different though.  People tout the pvp as awesome, given the clunky and leathargic combat and what ive seen on livestreams of it..it looks standard.  Theres a bit more to it than most games which is good.

Other than that your looking at a game that gives you no reason to fight mobs, it has a TON of crafting and side tasks to do, your character does stuff while offline.  Its pretty cash shop dependant if you want to buy and sell with other character and progress faster in game.

This game has heaps of overhype behind it, not really sure where its comming from.  I was sold on this game as a kung fu snadbox with awesome combat.  I really didnt like the combat, not that there was a reason to combat outside of pvp, and that the sandbox was more a few game mechanics that could fit into a sandbox, still retaining NPC factions and linear storyline (with autopathing which made it really boring)...i felt like i was tricked sort of.

Its not a bad game, its just a lot of people here are selling it at any expense to people.  I urge caution.  You will like this game if you like pvp combat, a slow combat system, crafting and putzing around with non combat or pve related stuff.  Thats really all there is to it.  Its free, but youll notice you wont be able to t buy in game all but the most basic of items without forking over more than a p2p sub costs.

Its different, i give them props for that.  Wish people were more honest with the game though...but then i dont think a lot of people know what a sandbox is other than a buzzword that will get them postive attention, so they use it wherever they can ect.
