Age of Wushu: Finding Success with Battle Arrays

Age of Wushu is a game, according to developers, that finds greater success for players in groups rather than as individuals. One of the ways to show prowess in a fight is through the use of strategic battle arrays. Arrays can give significant buff advantages to groups as few as three or as great as ten.

The two instances player’s enter the most, Twilight Village and Green Cloud Castle, are the best examples to see how an Array can help a team.  Choosing who leads, and what skills are used in the Array, adds to the excitement of being a master tactician. For example, using the Return to Origins Array lets players use two very different skills, Charge and Penetrate and Return Tiger to the Mountain. Charge and Penetrate, exponentially increases aggro on a player allowing them to distract enemies or one very powerful boss. Return Tiger to the Mountaindeals extra damage while also reducing the target’s defenses. The latter can be taken by weaker range players while stronger players can use the extra aggro to focus enemy attacks.

Arrays are interesting. As of right now, I've only seen two different ones used, the 3 man array, and the 6 man. There're a bunch of them though.

If you look at the picture above, the guy in the middle is initiating the array. Team mates stand in the outer circles to activate the arrray, with the guy in the top spot being the "eye," or the "key." The guy in the middle will have the array centered around him until broke.

As we get deeper into the game, it will be interesting to see how all the different types fit in.
